This was something one must do when visiting Williamsburg! The museum is wonderful! Lots of exhibits. The musical instruments were very interesting. There were many that had sound attached so you could listen to what that particular instrument sounded like. When we were there, a singer and keyboard player performed songs of the period, and it was great! We were... More

The furniture alone is magnificent. Love how you can see different styles from different colonial states. The art, music, early writings of the flowers & birds are amazing to read. Always something new each time we go.

Great museum. Very often has tours conducted by the staff to explain the folk art. Exhibits change so if you have gone before and return later, you may see a lot of new art.

Travelers to Williamsburg are always saying good things about their visit to the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum; those of us who live here in town, and go often, feel even luckier to have this first class museum on our doorstep! The tours are exceptional, given by very knowledgable volunteers. I often go in and spend time by myself,... More

Lots to offer - once you view the Hospital portion then you are showed the way to the rest of the museum of which it starts by going down a level then a tunnel walk over to start the two story building of where the exhibits are. Guns from they time to furniture too folk are to doll houses

This beautiful museum houses a variety of different exhibits classified as "folk art." Many of the exhibits, such as displays of silver items, seem more sophisticated than my idea of folk art, but regardless of what they are called, the exhibits are designed to hold the viewer's attention both visually and with written information. We took a free, 1/2 hour... More

This museum was jam packed full of a wonderful variety of items. I loved the quilts exhibit, the German toy display and the textile room. They have so much there that anyone will find something to interest them. Also the tour groups don't go here and there is AC.

At the request of our artistic teenager, we walked over to this museum after a day at Colonial Williamsburg. We enjoyed the interesting displays of furniture, folk art, storybook type art, and the area where children (and adults) can create their own art. The dollhouse exhibit was a favorite! Everyone in our party (ages 8 to 48) enjoyed this museum!
