I would highly recommend visiting here! It is the home of the Rockefellers. I didn't know that they were responsible for restoring Colonial Williamsburg. Make sure that you check the days that it is open. It is only open 3 days a week.

Our guide Nancy Hale provided an excellent tour of this former "favourite" home of the Rockefeller's. The family responsible for the restoration of Colonial Williamsburg. Bassett Hall is unpretentious, but sophisticated. Charming and delightful to explore. Set slightly apart from the main town, it's been...More

This is a fine museum that shows how the Rockefellers lived when they were living in Williamsburg during the reconstruction of Colonial Williamsburg. It gives a real insight into the type of people that they were - not what you'd expect! Be sure to see...More

Learn more about the restoration of Williamsburg at Bassett's visitor center. Then tour the home of the Rockefellers (yes, those Rockefellers!). Beautiful home, set in the 1930s, decorated in Abby Rockefeller's unique taste - not what you expect from "money" people - a must-see! The...More

A unique look at the Rockefeller's home way from home. Not at all what we expected but very informative.

To find out how Colonial Williamsburg turned into a place for us to visit, start Here because if John D. Rockefeller didn’t do what what he did, we wouldn’t be visiting here. All this was news to me and I thought the tour and history...More

The tour guide, Jackie, was a wealth of information. She spoke with respect and pride of the Rockefeller family. There is plenty of time to take photos and ponder.

We were finally in Williamsburg on a day Bassett Hall is open for tours. This was one of the highlights of our visit. Our tour guide was knowledgeable of the mansion and told many interesting stories. There is a short movie that should be seen...More

Wonderful tour and a glimpse into the personal lives and passion the Rockefeller's had for restoring and preserving the Colonial Williamsburg area. Highly recommend.

You have to have the basic pass. It also hosts special events which have their own ticket and usually an additional cost. All the ones we've done there were well worth the expense. It is not open all the time, so do check... More

There is a parking lot right beside the Reception Building at Bassett Hall. You turn in the drive-way, marked "Vehicle Entrance", just off Francis Street. It is just for people touring Bassett Hall.
