This is not your Atlantic City/Wildwood/Ocean City Maryland Boardwalk full of arcades, stores, & amusement park rides. The VA Beach Boardwalk is for family, lovers, joggers, rollerbladers, & bicycle riders. 😀 This is a great place to walk & talk as opposed to shopping and playing games....you can find all of that on Atlantic Ave, which runs adjacent to the... A wide variety of restaurants at all price points, most with outdoor seating; Beach Street during summer months features 4 stages with live music, various street performers; 3 playgrounds on the sand; mini-golf, horseback, pier fishing, surfing lessons; community events, like surf competitions, art shows,... Great time to be had by all. Little crowded on peak times but still plenty of fun. Beaches have LOTS of space. Careful of I-64 on Sat\Sun as it can be slow going. Wide variety of hotels. Lots of little shops and tons of places to eat (especially breakfast).
