We stopped here while Tropical Storm Hermine was blasting Virginia Beach. It was the popular place to be apparently as we had to wait almost 40 minutes in line to get tickets. The aquarium itself is nicely put together and easy to navigate. There are...More

We had a great visit to this aquarium! It is really focused on Virginia and the Chesapeake which was really unique, and the kids loved touching the rays!

Took the grandkids, ages 2-11, there was something for everyone. There were guides throughout that were knowledgable about the area they were in, answered questions for us, very interesting. At the end is Yogi Bears campground, great, for the kids!

Not our first trip to the Aquarium, but our first with our now grown children. We enjoyed it as much, if not more, than when our kids were little. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Loved the touch tanks. It's a great place to spend a...More

Our extended family - grandparents, parents, and kids - recently visited the Aquarium and had a blast! We visited the main building for a couple of hours, left to have lunch, and returned to take in the other side. It took us between 3 and...More

Virginia Aquarium is a wonderful experience with more than the usual variety of marine life on display. We especially enjoyed the sea turtle exhibit and presentation by aquarium staff. Several types of turtles are on display, and the presentation went into detail on the feeding...More

We enjoyed our visit to the aquarium. I highly recommend the dolphin cruise connected with the aquarium. We saw many dolphins and it was narrated by a knowledgable professional that added much other information that made the tour interesting.

Personally, I prefer aquariums to zoos. Perfect spot to bring your children or for a first date. It is a little on the small side. Staff was very friendly.

It's $20 nearly for adult admission, so I'm expecting something similar to the Baltimore aquarium and it is not. I live in the area so I've been a few times and have been less than impressed. I do like the second building with the otters...More

Took our eight year old great-niece and our parents; everyone enjoyed the experience! The exhibits are clean and pleasant to view. Your visit can be as fun or educational (or both, at the same time!) as you want to make it. We found it to...More

We went on a Wednesday... it was crowded... but I would agree, staff handle it well. I think there were a couple buses there from camps and what not. I would bet that Sundays are less crowded.
