You can see the star from much of Roanoke. I think most people drive up here but you can also hike up and it's a very nice trail. Park at the old campground off the Blue Ridge Parkway. It will take about an hour up....More

Worth the drive up. We Went there on a windy cold day and it was still nice. Recommended for everyone.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time on Mill Mountain. The views of Roanoke and the surrounding areas are amazing. Close to downtown so I was able to check out a couple of different attractions before leaving town. Wish I had been able to see it at night....More

able to see all of Roanoke and beyond from here, recommend hiking instead of driving, the trails are moderate in intensity, they are clearly market, so many beautiful trees on the way up, get a picture with the iconic star

A pretty drive (that only took a few minutes from downtown) on the way up to a beautiful view. Great place for pictures and you can’t beat the price!

Really nice for a short walk and a fantastic view of the city and surrounding area. We were also somewhat fascinated by all the butterflies in the flowers...hundreds.

We went around 7 in the evening by the time we got there it was dusk dark and the star looked great. The parking area is right next to the platform to view the star so the walk is very brief to and from the star.
