If you’re visiting Roanoke, you should definitely take a trip up Mill Mtn and visit the Star. Great view overlooking the city and great place for a selfie. While you’re up there, visit the Mill Mtn Zoo.

We went around 7 in the evening by the time we got there it was dusk dark and the star looked great. The parking area is right next to the platform to view the star so the walk is very brief to and from the star.
