We visited here while we were staying at the State park down the road. The park is not huge but does have some trails and a visitors center. While we were there the visitor center was in the process of being remodeled and only had a small section explains about the battle that took place. There was also a small... More

Trails with written descriptions of each stage of the battle bring history to life. Especially beautiful is the section of raised former railroad tracks that runs above farm fields. The park is a 300 acre Civil War site where 700 confederate men and boys held off an assault by 5000 union cavalry on a bridge of importance to Gen. Lee in Petersburg.
