Monterey Peninsula Monterey CA. The Monterey Peninsula is one of those very special places on this planet. The area consists of Monterey, Carmel and Pacific Grove. The bounty and beauty of the landscape alone in itself is sometimes breathtaking. From the Pacific, where awe inspired views is the norm, it can range from high cliff side elevations to winding secluded... More

Ran the trail 2 days while visiting Monterey. Fairly well marked it is a combination asphalt, concrete and packed aggregate surface. I ran from Seaside into downtown with lots of runners and bikers enjoying this trail. There are spurs onto the beach or wharfs. The second day I saw otters and seals.

We hired bikes from Adventures by the see (based in Monterey or Lovers point) and had a great ride all the way along the trail. Very easy riding for kids (our 6 year old loved it).

We stayed for one week in Monterey Bay and enjoyed walking along trail. We rented some bikes one day and other days just enjoyed walking and enjoying the views. Many shops and restaurants along the trail and nearby to enjoy as well. If you go in August, bring a jacket!

The MBRT is a terrific venue for outdoor recreation, fitness, sightseeing, beach access, and just getting around. There are several purveyors of bike, surrey and kayak rental equipment on the trail, so the availability of these recreational activities are available to everyone at very reasonable hourly or daily rates. Apart from these costs, which are optional, access to the trail... More

This is a great walking, running, biking whatever trail that mostly runs along the cliffs of the Monterey Bay. The trail runs from Marina, CA to Pacific Grove, CA cutting through the cities of Seaside and Monterey. The trail North of Seaside is remote. It is not well used but offers great views of the dunes and the bay. You... More

My daughter & I did this (FLAT!) bike ride in Monterey. I rented my bike at Bay Bikes (across from the Trailside Cafe). It was a great place to rent, since I didn't have to commit to 1 or 2 or 4 hours. I just rode as long as I wanted and when I returned, I paid for 1 hour... More
