The skipper of this yacht is a Canadian called Mike. He doesn't overload the boat, so you can feel you're out with a group of friends; his 65' sailing yacht is charming, as is he in a quiet, non-commercial-seeming way, and he doesn't do that cheating thing of saying he'll set sail but never actually doing so. Mike and Melissa were awesome! We had a group of 8 and then there were about 12 or so others that we didn't know. It was lovely. There was plenty of room for everyone to have a seat out on the deck and just enjoy. This is a very relaxing day so don't expect a lot of entertainment. It's a... More

We had SUCH a lovely time with Mike and crew! We sailed for about 2 hours before reaching a private little island with a stunning beach, where we anchored for about and hour, which allowed time for snorkelling, kayaking, swimming and a hike to some amazing views! Lunch was so yummy as well! Would 100% recommend this trip!

Firstly the skipper and crew. Mike and Melissa looked after us, he's an extremely knowledgeable guy with a wealth of sailing and ship experience. From salmon fishing off BC in the Canadian Pacific to yachting long distance journeys, Mike has been there, done it, got the T shirt. Melissa is the crew and she's been with the boat for 2... More

Booked this tour through an "I site" for my partner and I. Late-ish departure from Paihia which is nice. Greeted by the captain Mike and his offsider. Gorgeous day sailing with opportunities to help sail and steer the boat. We stopped off at a beautiful island, had an opportunity to walk round the island, kayak and snorkel ( although a... More

The trip was realy cool till we had to travell back cause of an emergancy ( it wasn't Mike and Melissas fault!) . Mike and Melissa ( not sure :D ) did everything with high professionality! The sandwiches and crackers were awesome! We want to say thank you for this trip!

Having been let down on our original booking, we were extremely fortunate to stumble across Mike, the skipper & host aboard the Gungha sailing yacht. He came to our rescue with a full day of sailing about in the Bay of Islands. Not only that but he was more than happy to take our 12 month old son too and... More

I truly enjoyed my day outing with Mike and Melissa. We had a great tour of the Bay of Islands, stopped off at a beautiful island that we hiked, swam, snorkeled and kayaked around. Lunch was delicious. Melissa made sure everyone had enough food and snacks all day. The views are breathtaking. If you are lucky you can see blue... More

The day with Mike and Melissa was awesome, one of the most fun i've had in a while. The service though out the day was great , nice day of sailing, orca & dolphin watching and swimming. The food on board was really good, they made a snack that consisted of cucumbers, tomatoes and cheese, then a sandwich and some... More

This excursion fell into our lap as our first choice was sold old. What a wonderful day we had. Highly recommended. We were treated like old friends. Saw dolphins and gorgeous scenery. The short hike overlook at lunch time is awesome. Appreciated the delicious lunch and healthy snacks. We had cucumber and tomato slices with fresh cracked black pepper. The... More
