The reserve, bridge and river area in KeriKeri are pretty and the Rainbow Falls are worth a stop. We broke up our day of driving here on our way north.

This was the first of our many NZ waterfalls and it was good. A bit of a climb back up on the circular route - OK for normally fit people but would not have liked to push a wheelchair.

A nice short walk on good paths to see a lovely waterfall. This would be an easy walk with kids or people with difficulties.

A lovely 45 min walk from here down the side of the river to the old Stonehouse basin, with drinks at the Pear Tree tavern. Followed by a gentle climb back up to the falls, a 3 hr round trip.

Not easy to find once you drive there. There's supposed to be a nice track there. From the car park there is a 3-minute walk to the top of the falls, a 5-minute walk down to the water.

This is a good hour in and another hour out but worth the walk. It is not a particularly taxing walk on a well formed track and boardwalks, but you do need decent walking shoes/trainers, and probably a water bottle.

These falls are stunning. We walked around and viewed from all the points. Then we went down to the base of the falls - a nice easy track to get down and up. However, my Mother (in her 60's) opted to view from the top....More

It's a 2 minutes drive or 7 minutes walk. Once you a there you have a 20 minutes walk on the Kerikeri Walkway. It's an interesting walk but a bit up and down but plenty to see in the landscape.
