We walked the 4.3k from the Stene Store car park to the falls. Undulating path that is a slight challenge but OK for the reasonably fit. you will see another et of falls along the way and the historic power station

A short stroll from the car park to reach the falls , easy level access and there's a toilet on site . Great place for a picnic if you walk down to the pool area , bit of an incline though .

There was a car park literally beside the falls. We didn't realized. And we trekked from the stone house which was 5 km one way (not return) It was a terrible mistake because we were in a hurry. The falls were pretty impressive. You can sit on the rocks opposite and admire it. Pretty romantic

Not a must do if you in the Bay of Islands but worth the short walk from the car park. The falls have quite a drop and you can work down to the bottom and look back. Would recommend.

Good long walk to the falls from the Stone Store and Kemp House. Take some water for this walk as it is about 45 minutes each way.

We spent a very pleasant morning walking to Rainbow Falls. It took longer than it said in the guide but we lingered to take photos of birds and just to look at the views

The rainy day added to the atmosphere. Beautiful scenery and great swimming hole if the weather was suitable. Would definitely recommend a visit.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our visit to this waterfall, which is simply stunning. Best of all, if you have problems walking long distances or up and down hills, it's a gentle, easy to follow path through the bush to the observation point at the top of the falls. For those a bit more adventurous there is another... More

Set at the Waipapa end of the track, the close proximity to the car park allows for all to visit these pretty falls
