We made a quick stop here before heading home. Worth the visit because of how easy it is to access and there are several viewing points a long the way. It takes less than 5 minutes to get to the best viewing point.

The Rainbow Falls are very picturesque. There are 3 different locations, all nearby, to watch them. One can reach them by car or on a pretty walk along the river.

On a sunny day the spray dances in the sunlight, and the most vivid rainbow forms. By falls standards they are not massive, but the surrounding area is rather lovely, and there are great photos to be had. Ours were only average, because the day...More

Beautiful park and surroundings, The waterfall is peaceful and a good place to relax and just enjoy the nature surrounding you. Not the most spectacular I have ever seen, but was a wonderful break from an otherwise hectic travel schedule.

Easy walk from the car park. Enter from waipapa end. Make sure you go down the path to the left to see the waterfall from below... and even sneak around a few rocks to get closer

Rainbow Falls was an unexpected gem on our visit to Northland. A very impressive set of falls in both height and volume (by NZ and Australian standards at least), and we were lucky enough to strike the right conditions to see the rainbow that gives...More

In our home area we are spoilt for waterfall options so these falls are underwhelming. They have a nice shape and the usual misty spray but the water is not appealing. A pleasant walk on the outskirts of the town but not worth a special...More

We wanted to see one of the local waterfalls to this area, but were nervous to commit to the 4km walk option due to having two under 5’s with us who have mixed feelings about walking! Saw there was a 10 minute walking option to...More
