This place is fab. Tasting of 5 or so superb wines is included in the $40 price of a great-value lunch platter which feeds 2 and contains an exquisite sampling of delicious, filling food - as shown. Poppy and Pip are friendly, welcoming hosts, and after wine tasting if desired you can order any of their delicious wines have with... More

We came here on recommendation for lunch, not for the wine tasting. Poppies has an excellent lunch platter which goes brilliantly with a range of wines. We had different wines and all complemented the varied foods. We loved the varied tastes from salmon, frittata with kumara, pumpkin hummus, delectable rare roast beef, perfectly ripened Brie, cold roast pork with crispy... More

We booked into Poppies a day ahead to ensure we could have lunch here after reading the reviews. The wine tasting was the most enjoyable experience, the best one we have every had. Poppie is so passionate about her wine, and she is a true entertainer with her stories. The lunch platter was very enjoyable and highly recommended.

In addition to creating fabulous wines, the Poppies Cafe is a must do experience. Convivial. Delicious. Just what you need during a wonderful Martinborough wine tour

If you are going for a wine-tasting.. please make a booking to avoid disappointment as the place is almost always full. We took a nice stroll around the vineyard & then had quite simply the BEST LUNCH PLATTER EVER.. Hats off to the chef.. The variety, the flavours & the presentation was simply outstanding. Poppy is passionate about her wines... More

Went on the basis of other Trip Advisor reviews and didn't disappoint. We didn't have a booking (NOT recommended) but they managed to accommodate us anyway and even get us an outside table when someone else's booking changed. Very informative & passionate wine tasting experience with Poppy herself who clearly loves what she does. Some great wines. Lunch itself, the... More

I don't think the wines will set the world on fire to be honest, but the tasting plates were very good and plenty of food for 2 at $40. $2.00 for a bread roll or crackers ? Why? The tasting while you have the platter is a good idea, but I don't know why it can't be done at the... More

I love this place. Poppy makes this place unique and without her it wouldn't be the same. Poppy is the wine maker and every weekend delights her customers by personally explaining the wines being tasted. She is enthusiastic ++ and knowledgeable and a delight to have a conversation with. Her wines are amazing and this year they are better than... More

Dropped in for a quick lunch. The share plates were fantastic. The staff are incredibly friendly, and accommodated both our kids and vegetarians without any trouble. There is only really share plates, plunger coffee, obviously wines, small selection of beers. Small range but great quality. If you are fussy I wouldnt do lunch.
