- HeidiNewcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom13 contributionsFavourite beach in Perth!!Watching the sunset here at the sunset markets on a Thursday night is a must if you're visiting Perth! There are plenty of food stalls as well as jewellery and clothes stalls which obviously vary in price but didn't find anything to be ridiculously expensive. The atmosphere here is lovely as there is always live music when the markets are on and it's very busy. Because of the popularity parking is terrible so either come early or get the bus if you can. Great for everyone, families, couples etc... Beach itself is perfect definitely recommend too not just for the markets!Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 20 February 2024
- Matt MCheshire, United Kingdom121 contributionsRelax without getting burntWe decided to spend the day here, taking bus 990 from Perth. You cannot miss the stop... It's the last one :) They are really well organised, we saw a lot of families as well because you can stay under the roof of the covered amphitheatre or the shaded grass areas. Take your time to have a stroll along the beaches on both sides of the amphitheatre. Sometimes you'll probably be the only one walking on this amazing stretches of sand.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 9 March 2024
- Jen H41 contributionsStunning beachThis beach is stunning!!!! The ombre water which goes from turquoise to a deep blue, the white sand scattered with small pippi shells. The sunsets into the water!! It is beautiful!!! The water is a fairly calm with average sized waves. The afternoons, the beach has kits surfers and surfers alike aling the beach which is also lovely to see. I also love the seating areas next to the beach and the playground, skatepark and rock climbing wall for kids. The pool is also a lovely addition but does cost to visit.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 2 April 2024
- Sasha DPerth, Australia22 contributionsAlways a great day at the beachGreat beach. Suitable for everyone from surfers to newbies. Different areas either side to avoid the big waves if desired. Have lifeguards. Can be busy on weekend mornings with surf clubs. Parking can also be an issue.Visited May 2024Travelled soloWritten 14 June 2024

I was fined here while at a work meeting. I parked in a 2 hour area and looked around extensively for signs when I exited the car. Couldn’t find any so thought it was fine. Got fined because I was there for 3 hours in a 2 hour zone. The area is very poorly signed so just be careful when parking there and look around carefully. Charging $80 to people who overstay by 1 hour is blatant revenue raising!

Scarborough is such a beautiful beach with so much else going on! The sunset markets on Thursday evenings are definitely worth a visit! So many restaurants to see along the road by the beach or bbqs to use for a cheaper day out. The life guards always do a great job of looking after everyone as well. Highly recommend!

Scarborough beach is lovely clean with a great beach with clear water. So peaceful and the cafe and restaurants around the beach are plentiful. Also a Coles in the centre 5 mins from the beach with a few shops and bakery there. Worth a visit from Perth and can be reached by train then the bus stops right at the station to take you to the beach so good with the connections from train to bus. If you have a smart rider just tag on the train and bus from Perth and off at the beach.

If you need to go somewhere close for a swim, then Scarborough beach is perfect. It is about 20 minutes from the city and there is space for many activities such as surfing and snorkeling. There are many cafes and bars you can visit. There is also a $30 million revitalization scheduled for more activities on the beach.

Beautiful beach. We had gone to Scarborough Beach to swim in the early evening, watch the sunset, have a little walk and have a drink and some nibbles but man was it windy and the tide strong!! Even so thoroughly enjoyed walking along the beach and then sitting and watching the amazing sunset. Parking was very busy but eventually got the car parked, as there were a lot of people at Scarborough but totally worth the effort to see the amazing sunset!

The wide open space between residential development and the ocean is a please to enjoy.
To see dunes and not fences is a rarity and is to be seen to be believed.
And the sun setting over water is a sight to behold especially having a glass of sparkling wine in hand and beautiful family to share it with.

Scarborough Beach is a lovely place for the family to hang out. There is a whale playground, skating park and rock climbing wall that will attract all ages. The beach itself is maybe not suitable for young kids as the winds can be strong and in turn, lead to large waves (at least on the 2 occasions we visited).
The sunset was unbelievable to watch.

We are arriving 9 January .... I read the new pool is being filled and you will be able to drive through the front area again ....will the construction spoil our holiday?
Written 20 November 2017
The pool is open on 22 January 2018..
The renovation is still taking part so far as I live just couple of block from the beach.. but you also can go to trigg beach near by with bbq facility, or city beach.. but please visit Scarborough beach it’s still enjoyable..

Is the sea too rough for kids to play and swim in as I've heard it's a surfers beach with lots of rip tides.
Written 9 August 2016
We stayed right across from the beach and there were plenty of children swimming there. Best time was in morning before midday as the wind seemed to be breezy late in the afternoon. Most days we were there it was pretty calm. This was at the end of January early Feb. I think it is a pretty fabulous place as the water is so blue and the sand so white with good amenities around.

Hi, we will be staying the scarborough beach area next weekend for 2 nights. Would like some recommendation of places to eat (especially on the sat evening when we arrive from Malaysia) and activities to do. And will it be very cold now, especially at night?
Thanks

On Saturday evening you will find something nice along the beachfront area, there is so much to choose from, just go for a walk and you will find something to please your appetite, dont's stress !!
There is the lovely Rendezvous Hotel in a strategic position you cant miss it. Meals
available inside as there are a couple of nice restuarants & bars to choose from.
Highly recommend this one.
Also situated on the waterfront is a Thai Restaurant, A casual Greek Restaurant, A fish
Restuarant and many, many more, so dont worry beforehand as you wont go hungry.
It is winter in Perth so the days will be cool, overcast however arounnd 20 degrees during the day so very nice to stroll around and get grounded, perhaps a 30 minute jaunt along the sandy beach or sealed footpath north up to Triggs Island where you will find a lovely place to have a coffee and a nice meal.
Night temps are around 10 degrees so bring your scarves, woolly hats and jackets,
especially coming in from the tropics as you no doubt will feel it more than the average
local who still can be seen in shorts and tee shirts!!
Have a lovely stay, I am sure you will love it at Scarborough as this is one of the most
pristine beaches in the world and to just experience this beach, the silky soft, white sand, long walks, sunsets over the Indian Ocean, will surely be enough to keep you busy for two days.
Enjoy the moments, time goes quick !!

It's wild! Scarborough has great waves, but is also a place where most of us who grew up here got 'dumped' dozens of times. There's an infamous 'rip' that can carry even strong swimmers a long way, so it's important to swim and surf between the flags that are positioned on the beach to reduce mishaps.
