Great days fishing in pretty rough conditions - plenty of fish and great crew on the boat. Boat was quite crowded but didn't work out too badly - not too many line tangles. A very professional team only slightly let down by their bus driver who is a sour, cranky woman. Everyone else a 10/10. Probably wouldn't recommend for kids who are not self sufficient but great for anyone else.

We had an absolutely stunning day out with Mahi Mahi Fishing Charters yesterday. Bernie and Jake worked tirelessly all day to make sure that everyone caught fish – and my goodness me, what fish they were! We finished up with tubs full of amazing fish and we were all looked after from start to finish. (Please note that the photo does not show all the fish – we just grabbed a fish or two each before they were magically transformed into fillets. Our smiles should tell their own story.) Our thanks to Bernie and Jake for their efforts, which were sincerely appreciated. We have never enjoyed a better day’s fishing, and we thoroughly recommend Mahi Mahi Fishing Charters to anyone, and everyone.

My husband and I had a great day out with Mahi Mahi last week. We shared a line for the day. The Skipper and decky were amazing ensuring we all caught plenty of fish, helping us with lines, giving us advice and providing us knowledge and facts. We were fortunate to see plenty of marine life and their natural environment. We will be back!

My partner and I were excited for our first proper fishing charter but left a little disappointed. The pros of the day was that the skipper stayed out longer to try and get us some good catch numbers as well as seeing whales and dolphins on the trip.

Constructive feedback, minimal communication was given from the time we stepped on board and no agenda.
We sat for close to 2 hours to get out into the deep sea, had a brief demonstration on how to use the winch/reel and then left to our own devices.

I was very disappointed in the attitude that came across from one of the deck hands, he was not very willing to assist and had so sense of instruction delivery.

One of the patrons next to use was having major issues the entire day with his reel and was not sure on how to use it and threw his line into the water and a bit of bait came off. The deck hands repose was “don’t do that again, now you have lost us bait”, there was no follow up example on how to properly perform the task. His line proceeded to get tangled on ours all day which was so frustrating as we had to keep reeling in the line which cost us significant fishing time.

I tried to make casual conversation and ask what type of fish was good eating fish out of genuine interest, and the deck hand responded only with “ not the one you caught” and walked off.

The same side of the boat got tangled the entire day, where as the other side had the perfect placement, it would have been good to mix us around at different spots to allow even chance of fishing,

Lastly, when there was several first timers on board it wasn’t the best look when people were struggling and the staff were casting in their own lines, the feeling of the whole day was that they would help the experienced and the first times were a hindrance.

I’ve given this a bad rating for multiple reasons.
Firstly we were on the half day charter on Friday 26th June. Not long after leaving harbour the boat ran into engine problems. We were told it was quite an easy fix but didn’t have spare parts on board so would have to return.
This is not why I’m leaving a bad review, I appreciated their putting our safety first and returning to shore and giving us a full refund.
What I was disappointed in was the fact that after over 3 months of down time due to COVID-19 the boat hadn’t been fully maintained. Also the older lady in the office was abrupt and unapologetic about it.
A little bit of empathy about everyone’s disappointment would have gone a long way, rather than saying you will get your refund but don’t bother her as she’s busy all day!
This was a day we had been looking forward to but we came home sad and disappointed.
All I can say It was lucky it happened inside the reef not the 1.5hrs out we were told it was going to take to get to our fishing spot.

Half day trip is great value as it goes from 97:00 until 15:00. Crew were very friendly and knowledgeable. We went to three sites and fish were pulled from all spots. Everyone caught fish which for a beginner was superb.
Only thing to be aware of is about two hrs to the fishing so take kwells as it can be rough.
Thanks very much to the crew

Unfortunately, the office staff are difficult to deal with, poor communicators, incompetent, abrupt and rude. You just need to get past that part of the process and then it’s great from there. We went out on the 48 foot Westcoaster “Southern Comfort” which is an older fibreglass fishing boat which makes it really stable. We caught an average of three fish each person. The crew (Cooper and Travis) were great. They had great attitudes and were friendly and happy. They were very quick to sort out any issue you may have such as tangled lines etc. It was a great day. Thanks Coops and Trav - I’m glad were persisted past the office BS and got to have a great day with you.

Great day out with a great catch. Skipper and deckhands were welcoming helpful funny and patient. Comfortable boat, great time catching a range of premium fish including goldband, pearl perch, cod and jobfish. Would definitely go again.

I had a fantastic day on the water. I'm not a great fisherman, but managed to catch a few nice fish as did everyone else on the trip, including an 8kg Red Emperor. The captain, worked hard finding great spots and Deckie Sam showed us everything we needed to know and was patient and skilled at undoing tangled lines. The half day trip started before sunrise and by the time the fantastic crew were finished filleting and bagging our catch, it was just on dark. Awesome day.

Fantastic day out with Bernie and crew. Went out on a half day with the fish slow biting in the morning but Bernie wasn't giving up and made it a great day out.
Was worried as I don't have much charter and winch experience but as soon as I asked for help they were there to help and show us just how its done.
All the information you need to know about the trip including bringing your own food and drinks it on your ticket or the office staff will explain.
All in all a great experience and would highly recommend!
