PADI Scuba Diving Centre in the small, remote community of Coral Bay, Western Australia on the World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef. We offer PADI dive courses, dive tours and snorkel tours. Our dedicated, passionate crew are waiting to take you out and show you what the region has to offer. At Ningaloo Reef Dive we are committed to the conservation & protection of the Ningaloo Reef Marine Park and the safety, education & enjoyment of our visitors.

Great tour company. Very easy to book and deal with. Marina was our guide and she was very patient with us after not diving for a year. Her passion and enthusiasm for the reef was obvious.

Myself and my partner enjoyed a terrific experience swimming with mantas, turtles, sharks and so much more!
The crew were super efficient, fun and passionate about their love for the ocean. Especially Tomas who was our snorkelling tour guide. His enthusiasm was infectious and made our experience one we will remember forever. Thanks guys!!!

This was an amazing day trip with excellent staff/crew. They made the day very special, giving lots of information as well as maximising the number of opportunities to snorkel in different parts of the reef. We saw very healthy reef, swam with Manta Rays and visited a shark cleaning station (absolutely brilliant snorkelling over the sharks as the smaller fish cleaned the parasites off and cleaned their teeth!!). Also very lucky to see an adult Lemon Shark, which are rare for these waters (so I believe). Saw 4 turtles and so many fish. I wish I knew each species, but unfortunately I don't; however, the crew were able to tell us what we had seen. A very reasonable priced trip for what we experienced.

Overall the manta ray trip is worth it. We spent a lot of time swimming around the reef (2 times) and manta rays (3 times). The crew had a lot of energy and were very helpful. The crew were split amongst the divers and snorkelers. Our main snorkel guide, Marina, was great at explaining the reef wildlife and where they usually lived.
Unexpectedly we saw around 10 coral sharks and the captain found Albert the turtle who is around 80 years old which everyone got to swim with him.
Our child is 8 and loved all aspects of the trip and never scared of any snorkeling.
The only negative aspect of the trip was the food which was ok but limited due to the number of people on the trip. There is a photographer on the boat but you have to pay for the photographs which are not cheap.

We did the half day manta ray tour and it exceeded our expectations in every way! So much marine life - turtles, sharks, manta rays, up close views of whales, a tiger shark (from the boat not in the water) and dolphins. The crew were very helpful and knowledgeable and everything ran very smoothly. 10/10 morning and one we will remember for ever. I had some minor concerns before that as snorkelers on a trip with divers, the divers would be prioritised but they handled the divers vs snorkelers very well so that neither group got in the way of the other.

This was my first dive in a long time. They offer a PADI refresher, which was wonderful (and nearly all the divers I went out with took it.) I was a little nervous, but they made it easy and relaxing.
What a way to return to diving! Not only did we have two incredible dives, we swam with manta rays, and spent lunch hanging out with a mother and calf humpback pair! I have been on whale watch boats, and never seen whales as up close and personal as I did with Ningaloo Dive. The staff, both on the boat and in the shop, were really wonderful, and their love of showing off their beautiful reef and the creatures who call it home was palpable.

We had a fantastic day snorkeling out on the Ningaloo Reef and swimming with a Manta Ray. The crew was really nice and knowledgeable. The guided snorkeling around two sites was fantastic and we saw lots of beautiful coral, fish and sea turtles. The swim with the Manta Ray was spectacular. We got to hop in three times and the crew gave good instructions on how to do it to make it safe for both us and the Manta.

Do you have to pay and do a tour to snorkel at coral bay ningaloo reef? Or can you bring your own snorkel and explore for free? 2nd question is the ningaloo reef accessible from the shore or do you have to go out on a boat to reach it??

Coral Bay has excellent coral within swimming distance from the shore. The tours take you to very special places though. The northern arm of the bay is a nursery for the harmless reef sharks and well worth a look.

There were people free diving but not around the manta rays and yes it would be ok just to wear your costume as people were doing Just that ok our dive

You have to book the tours because they are not easy to spot and they use special planes for that.

Can you dive and snorkel with whale sharks or just snorkel? Do boats take snorkelers and divers on the same boat? Planning a trip next May/June

The whale shark encounter tour is snorkel only. We visit two different snorkel spots on the reef and of course the main event with the whale sharks.
We do offer SCUBA diving on the reef and snorkelling on the same boat for the manta ray interaction tour that operates all year round.

yes we provide you with 3mm long or short wetsuits for snorkelling and 5mm long or short for SCUBA diving. If you tend to feel the cold, let the crew know so we can provide you with a few more layers and even hoods. The temperature of the water right now is 23 degrees and hopefully will be climbing for summer time.

What is the diving like in February? I understand that the weather can be stormy - does this effect the ability to dive and the dive experience?

You may have heard that the weather is stormy because it is our cyclone season during that time. However the diving can be exceptional. When the weather is sunny and hot and no wind the conditions will be fantastic for diving. We dive all year round in the shallows of the coral gardens with a maximum depth of 10m. The visibility averages 10-12m. Dependant on the cycles of the tides, we will assess the environmental conditions of the day to find the best dive site for you.
