Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stunning area with a nice beach stretching to the distance, some lovely vegetation with plenty of colourful blooms. Didn't see any local animals, only birdlife sighted were gulls. Great facilities with Information Board, covered areas for the gas BBQs and picnic tables, toilets and interesting walk trails.

There were only a few people on the beach when we went there. The views are amazing and it was relaxing to sit by the water. Just be careful we did see a shark in the water right next to the shore line.

I first visited Hangover Bay over 8 years ago, when it was found down a unsealed road and I never normally saw a sole, always having the beach to myself. The BBQ's and shelters were found amongst the bush trees.
Now with the opening of the Indian Ocean Drive, it is fully sealed with purpose made BBQ and large shelters. which are now exposed to the wind.
Its still a lovely place to visit, either before or after the Pinnacles.
There is a little track off to the left as you enter the car park marked 4wd. Its accessible by most all wheel drive vehicles and takes you to the beach further along.
The main beach area is safe for children, access is via some steps so not too good for pushchairs or wheelchairs. Toilets are available.
Well worth a stopover

I think the experience will largely vary with the weather and chance event. As the photo shows, it is a good looking beach and has lovely sand, but the flies and heat can ruin the experience. And the bay may not always be clear (may have debris, may stink). If the weather is not hot, and flies are fewer, worth a visit. As a rule of thumb, beaches south of Perth have fewer flies, and more enjoyable.

Beautiful bay. Great gas piped BBQ facilities available at no cost. Clear seas and white sand. Well worth visiting.

Surprised to find the carpark empty on a hot day, and so had the whole place to ourselves. A huge kangaroo greeted us on the path to the beach, which was a nice surprise. The beach was a bit weedy, but still fun for the children.

Hubby, my seven month old & I visited this spot on the way back from Jurien Bay. We wish we had of visited the day before when the weather was nice as the storm was rolling in the day we were there.
It’s a gorgeous spot and would be perfect for little ones! Highly recommend

On a nicer day I can imagine this would be a lovely spot to stop. Unfortunately after all the ran there was a lot of seaweed washed up on the beach and wasn't very nice to walk along. Pick a nice day if you choose to go here.
