Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped in for a cheese and wine tasting only and were very impressed.
The variety and flavour of the cheeses were to die for and not hugely expensive.
A nice place to visit on your Yarra Valley drive.

Great place to kick back and add some calories with great local cheeses and breads. The place also stocks plates, jugs, farm house country modern plates, bowls, and cooking items. Not enough eating areas... Also has wine tasting. Good place but have seen better...

This is a great place for cheese tasting with a excellent selection of locally made and unique cheeses. In fact there is cheese tasting, wine tasting, great coffee and a grand selection of regional produce for you to purchase. Put this place on your list when you visit the Yarra Valley.

The cheeses were good and nice and they had some interesting produce (other than cheese) but despite being the only customers in the shop and having ordering and paying for drinks, cheeses and other produce the staff were very unenthusiastic and replies to questions were short and curt. Such a pity as this was our last stop in Yarra after spending 4 days in the region and we had nothing but great service from every other establishment before this.

Amazing setting, extremely well stocked larder (choc, relishes, wine) and very generous tastings. Hand made cows and goats cheeses. The goats cheese in ash is amazing!

Delicious cheeses. Very localized. Gourmet items. Expensive but worth the visit. We loved the taste of soft cheeses.

Came on friend's recommendation to visit and try cheeses. I has apprehensive of the yucky cheese smell of a cheese dairy. But what an awesome experience. Loved the gifts and produce on sale, we tried the cheeses which the sales assistant was helpful, bright, bubbly and more than welcoming. Cheeses are fantastic. On our day they had free wine tasting which was great. We had a cheese platter which was such great value for money. Love the experience and crave for this cheese all the time! Highly recommend kid friendly aswell.

Four of us visited for lunch but as the Dairy only has a small eating area had to wait but only for half an hour. Did the cheese tasting which is very slick but gives you an idea of what is available.

Lunch was ok - we had the pork pie with relish - the relish was amazing but the pies were so cold they were almost frozen. We also had duck rillette and a plate of assorted bread - yummy.

There is a huge selection of condiments and cookery appliances available but all a little on the pricey side.

This is a tourist attraction hence the pricing. If you weren't eating here I'd say you'd only stay about half an hour as apart from the cheese tasting and shopping there is nothing else to do.

Have been so probably won't come again as the cheeses are now sold in most supermarkets.

We visited here late in the afternoon, yet the staff were happy to offer us a cheese tasting. We had not tried goat cheese previously and were very much surprised how good it was. They also had a range of home made jams and preserves along with many other items for sale.

Great place to visit.

We took Canadian visitors here last Sunday, one of whom is Coeliac. The cafe charges $6 extra (on a $32 cheese platter with bread) for some gluten-free biscuits. Because $6 for the biscuits is outrageous, I had taken some GF biscuits from home and, when the waitress saw this, she first told us we couldn't bring our own food and should pay for gluten-free, then she said she'd get the manager when I put our biscuits back in the box and said we wouldn't eat them but would not pay extra for their biscuits. She then said she'd bring some biscuits at no charge as a gesture of good will. Most cafes in Melbourne charge $1-2 or nothing extra for gluten-free bread and there can be no justification for charging $6 for taking a few biscuits out of a packet and putting them on a plate. Our visit to Yarra Valley Dairy was ruined by this situation. What a pity because the cheese is good and the setting is charming. We won't go back.
