Skip Australia Zoo and come here!
This place really cares about the animals and you can tell, all the staff are very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. They do very cool Snake and Croc shows where you learn a lot about behaviour. The reptile handling also is an unique experience. The Zoo has a very calm atmosphere which reflects onto the animals. Would highly recommend if passing by!

Truely amazing !! Only found it by chance as we were passing through we needed a bit of a stop and stretch. So glad we did, can’t actually remember cost but basically would have paid more happily after the experience ( have been to so many touristy things SeaWorld, Australia zoo etc on this trip and this was the cheapest and most rewarding) Paid extra for koala and snake handling with photos, honestly cheap when compared. Staff were a real treat, so welcoming and pleasant and very knowledgeable!! And most of the animals were happy, very relaxed, clean and feed well ! Very impressive little reptile house!!! A smaller zoo so easy to stroll around and enjoy. Not crowded at all very personal experience. Actually focused around the animals, not the gift shop ! Lol It is a real credit to the staff, all the hard work they put in shows great respect for the animals and their environment. Would gladly go back and recommend to anyone who wishes to have a pleasant afternoon out with the fam. Can’t say enough how lovely it is !! Would give more stars if I could Absolutely the pick of this holiday !

Wowzers. What an incredible place to visit. So very personal and such fantastic staff. We arrived just before 10 in time to see the snake show. Jake did a wonderful talk , and happily answered all the questions (we adults!) threw at him. Wonderful python holding experience, along with a small alligator. Keep yer fingers away from his mouth! Koala bears were next. And as usual they are just the cutest animal around. Great to hear that Snakes Downunder is able to grow its own source of Eucalyptus fresh for the koalas. Next the venomous snakes had their show. The lady keeper was SO knowledgeable , was great to see the snakes and hear all about them. Last but not least was the Croc Show. Wild animals just know when not to behave. Once again the lady keeper (sorry don’t know your name) was very confident and knowledgable There are also many other wonderful creatures to see. Well worth a visit, with OR without children. The staff are all so caring and knowledgeable

This is only a small zoo, but has the best snake shows I’ve ever seen. If you like snakes or reptiles in general it is a must visit. Fantastic snake house with an interesting collection. Other animals are good too - meerkats are super cute and I could watch them all day. Komodo dragon was great, goannas, kangaroos, koalas, crocs.

But the two snake shows are worth the admission alone. Its not just the standard carpet pythons - you'll get to see some more unusual pythons, as well as venomous snakes like the brown snake and taipans, and its clear the handlers know and care for their animals. Very good value. One of the quieter zoos so if you don’t like crowds you’ll be fine. I’m amazed this place isn’t busier.

A small kiosk selling cold drinks, ice blocks and hot food like toasted sandwiches.

I loved this place (More than I loved the larger more well known facility just south of here). It was up close, personal, more hands on, use friendly, engaging, and really nailed the brief of satisfying my reptile loving daughters. Staff were knowledgeable and accommodating. Great day out

This place is a must if you are in the region. The staff seemed to know and love all of the snakes, crocs and other reptiles. It was great to hear about all their quirks and personalities, such as Alice the lazy croc, Ollie the chilled out snake and Barney the cranky lizard. All the staff were great but special shout out to Aaron the volunteer who took the time to walk round with us for a bit and personalise the experience.
The reptiles seem well cared for, the vibe is peaceful and friendly.
Thanks to all for such a great experience

This small park is just perfect for anyone wanting an up
Close experience with Australian wildlife and some fun imports.
The staff are unquestionably experienced and knowledgeable and handle both their animal friends and human visitors with respect and patience, regardless of size, age or gender.
With my daughters American boyfriend in tow, we bypassed this Reptile Parks Flashy cousin at Beewah, to come here.
While specializing in reptiles, snakes, lizards and a couple of gorgeous crocs, you can also relax with big old kangaroos and feel sleepy alongside pair of cuddly koala dames.
An authentic gem🐊👍🏻

There was so much to see and do at the excellently run attraction. Loads of different animals and birds and several interactions (meerkats, koalas and an alligator). Very well informed and lovely friendly staff. Highly recommended

Really enjoyed my visit here and spent a lot more time than expected. The shows are really the highlight - get to see a range of snakes, including the very venomous ones, and crocs at close but safe distance. Staff is very knowledgeable and are available in the small park to answer questions. Number of visitors is a lot lower than in many other places which means you can have a very personalised experience.

On a weekend trip to Hervey Bay I finally got to Snakesdownunder and it didn’t disappoint. It is a small park but packed with a great range of snakes and lizards. I loved the sand goannas and the perenties not to mention Naga the Komodo Dragon. I saw two snake presentations which were entertaining and enlightening. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely visit Snakesdownunder again as I think it was terrific value for money and I would like to see the completion of the renovations that were being undertaken. I would recommend a visit to anyone.
