Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The building was the premises of local pharmacist Thomas Gaydon who arrived in Childers in 1894 ... it's a stunning building with pressed metal ceilings and beautiful old wooden cupboards to hold the curious wares of days bygone.
It's not my suggestion that you go in looking for medical assistance because they have old world cures such as Cod Liver Oil... :) I still remember when my Great Grandmother thought that could cure period pain when I was younger. I gagged, but she felt that she had cured the ills of the world... she was really surprised when it didn't work.
There are bottles of Crystal Violet, Viadol, Creosote, Iodoform, Pectin, Vaseline, Pink Pills, Methyl-Testosterone and many others... and open the drawers to find Creta, Nux Vomica ( now that sounds nutritious ...used for for erectile dysfunction , swelling of the stomach, constipation, anxiety, migraine, and many other conditions), Ipomoea (used for diabetes, hypertension, dysentery, constipation, fatigue, arthritis, rheumatoid diseases, hydrocephaly, meningitis, kidney ailments, and inflammations.), Ipecacuanha (Which sounds like it's related to the chihuahua).
There is so much to discover here for those with a curious mind... I absolutely LOVED this museum. You can gain entry by donation ( fortunately they don't require livers or other body parts... just cold hard cash). My tour guide of the day was Tim who clearly loved what he was doing.

A great little museum. The volunteer on duty was very helpful and we spent a bit of time with her discussing the history of the Pharmacy and the town of Childers.

Lovely volunteers who have me a tour through. Lots of original pieces from the last 1800s. So much history persevered. Loved my time here.

What a fantastic place. The pharmacy aspect is amazing. There is so much to see with a huge variety of old pharmacy items and records. An old dentist chair will give you chills plus some of the old equipment is great to see. We were fortunate to have a guided tour by Vicki, one of the volunteer ladies. Vicki was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. So much to see and read. Well worth a visit.

Our private tour guide, one of the volunteer ladies took the time to show us the treasure trove of historical records and artefacts. She was very knowledgeable and approachable. A definite must visit.

It may only cover two rooms but this place is so full of history of how the old pharmacy was. The gent that showed us around was so helpful and explained of how the old days were, over 100 years ago. A must do if you love history

In the main street, this little museum is crammed full of old pills, potions and things from the past. It's definitely worth a look!

A small but interesting piece of our history. The Pharmacy Museum Still contains the mostly original Timber shelves and glass cabinets. A great insight into how pharmacies used to look. The young man behind the counter was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the little museum. My teenager enjoys vintage where’s so perfect for her to browse through. Well worth a look on the way through. Free entry!

As a recently retired pharmacist, this little museum was fascinating. The two volunteer women were a wealth of knowledge.
There were lots of old labelled bottles, some with contents which should have been under lock and key eg arsenic pills!
The drawers of medications and raw ‘pharmaceuticals’ were interesting. Everything was just as it was from years before. There were even all the old script registers which I had a quick look at. Memories!
It’s only $5 and we’ll worth the trip down memory lane, even if you’re not a pharmacist!
