I went with a friend and her 6 year old grandson and it was interesting for adults as well. Easy to walk around and you can get a treasure hunt card for the kids to look for things as they are walking around with a small gift at the end when they hand it in. Not as many interactive things at the moment because of covid but we enjoyed it anyway. No cafe but nice grounds outside to have a picnic. Good parking. …

Great place to take young kids, ours were 4 and 5. Still talk about the lessons about fire which I believe is very educational and they enjoyed the treasure hunt, trying to find the items listed in the various exhibits. I took my 3 yo grandson to check out some fire engines. The staff were the sweetest, chatting to him and giving him a card to match pictures with the exhibits. There is an amazing collection of history and fire vehicles (and horses) in here. My grandson loved the 'play' area with the fire trucks to pretend you are driving, etc. I'd love to go again and really soak up the information and history of the place (without trying to keep an eye on an inquisitive 3 yo!). Definitely worth checking out and the kids will enjoy it too. Picnic area outside, with a playground and toilets. (didn't use these but good to know) Plenty of room for the kids to run around and work off some energy! Helpful, friendly staff.…
