Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Only open Sundays 11-3 but worth a look if you're around then. Lots of pictures and a room with a motley collection of stuff, many from Australia or US stuff from the Pacific, but clearly mostly whatever they could get their hands on. You can get a great tour though that will discuss the use of the site for various training and stuff, so time it for that or you'll end up having a quick look at the stuff then have to do a whole tour as well (I'd almost mark them down in comparison to the amazing printing museum nearby but it's just so good to have these little museums going).

Tucked away adjacent to Penrith Rowing Club this Museum is staffed by old Navy men who have a wealth of experience which they are keen to share. The photographic exhibition alone is worth a visit plus the associated uniforms & kit complete the displays.
Open Saturday & Sundays admission is by donation.

From the outside, you would have no idea of the treasures inside. We enjoyed our guided tour hosted by Gary the curator. Well worth a visit.

Much to my surprise there is a Maritime Museum in Penrith. Next door to Nepean rowing club in the building with the yellow submarine! It was with some trepidation that we entered the nondescript building but despite interrupting the AGM the curators were more than happy to show us about and as they said 'Every item has a story' - and every story was interesting. If only it were open a little more often beyond 1-3pm Saturday and Sunday! [Spoiler alert - the yellow submarine is actually a mine destroying underwater drone]

Only a small museum, easy to miss. Park in the rowing club car park.
I was unable to view the museum as visited during the week. The building is used as a care facility during the week.
The museum part appeared to be mainly a hallway full of photographs.
