My husband and I backpacked into the green gardens campsites and pitched our tent on one of the platforms for the night. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset view over the ocean, a wet scenic small hike to the underwater cave and had breakfast with the...More

The scenery changes dramatically during this hike. Be warned: you are not protected from the sun for about half the trail, but when you reach the ocean, you understand why this place is called Green Gardens...just watch out for the sheep poop...!

My daughter and I did this hike as we had heard from others it was the most scenic. The stairs going down were in very poor shape- some downright dangerous. When we got to the end there was poop everywhere- and I mean everywhere. Apparently...More

I did this hike in the morning and saw some of the best views in the park. As a mid 20s person who runs regularly, I thought it was so-so, but I understand how it can be difficult for some especially going back up or...More

Well marked trail but lots and lots of steps - well worth the trip to the coast though where you can walk along the shore and see a few local sheep - which is apparently unusual for this part of Newfie.

We set out on this hike in August. At the beginning, the trail runs through Tablelands type stones and has some markings to identify the trail (blue plastic tape wrapped around stones on the ground). In fact, they are not necessary on this section as...More

This trail starts off flat and in the open. You srtart with a walk across the earth's mantel and then over a mountain ridge leading down to a wonderful vista. The path takes you to the cliffs over looking the ocean. Continue to walk along...More

We hiked the Green Garden trail on 6/25/18. The TH has parking for 10 to 15 cars, a pit toilet, and no water. Heading to Trout River from Woody Point, the TH is on the right about 7 miles from the Discovery Center. The trail...More

This is a moderately challenging hike (9km return) with a modest incline across Tablelands-like terrain to start and then a long descent through meadow and forest (following mountain contours) to reach the beach/cliffs. The trip back is mostly uphill (and the most challenging part) but...More
