Came here for the first time after joining national trust. It was simply beautiful. Lovely gardens, stunning views and friendly staff. We bought a picnic and found a lovely spot to sit and have it. Also visited the house which had lots of interesting things...More

One of the jewels in the crown of the National Trust in Kent, but hard to really enjoy as it is always so busy. Do try and plan a visit when it is quieter, but dress up warmly to really appreciate the garden and Churchill's...More

I suspect that there could be a long wait to gain access to the house during peak periods. Entry is by timed ticket with 10 minute slots. However, once inside you can take as long as you like viewing the rooms and exhibits. The information...More

Had a lovely walk around the grounds with the children and dogs then went into the cafe, which was poor quality and expensive for what it is - typical of national trust food outlets. So if you have quite a few mouths to feed -...More

I can see why Churchill moved here, such breathtaking views. The house was amazing including the artifacts in the rooms upstairs. His painting are also on display. Beautiful gardens. Well worth a visit and a walk round the lake is a must!

Hi, I don't remember seeing a cloak room but if you phone before your visit they will let you know. They may have somewhere to store things in the ticket office situated in the car park.

2-3 hours minimum to take in the house, Churchill's art studio and walk around the grounds. This is a lovely part of Kent so it's nice to just take in the views. You get the best out of your visit by taking time to speak... More
