Didn’t bother with house this time as been in before (well worth it) but grounds as lovely as ever. Plenty of places to sit & admire views

A surprise visit to Chartwell and so pleased we went. The house and grounds are stunning. A great way to learn about history. The cafe was reasonably priced with good options. The shop was also worth a visit.

I have visited here three times over the years and I think it rates amongst my top three Trust properties in the UK. We arrived around 11.30 on a boiling hot day to find people struggling to park as it was so busy (and the...More

We arrived at 10.30am and had a timed ticket to enter the house between 11.10 and 11.20am, which was ideal as that gave us time for a coffee beforehand. Entry to the house was extremely well organised and the enthusiasm of the volunteers was palpable....More

I have lived in Kent for most of my life and never visited Chartwell. It has massive gardens, great for my family. With their usual activities for children in the holidays. I didn't go in the house so can't comment in that. But generally a...More

This is an amazing property that is very well presented. Take your time when looming through the rooms to imagine Sir WC in his study at his desk. The staff and volunteers do a super job and are very knowledgeable about the home.

Meandering through the rooms of Chartwell house, you could be forgiven to think that the great man himself was in another room. It gives you a sense of his character, his love of art and his appetite for reading. The rooms are decorated in a...More

Magnificent gardens and the house is beautiful. Very friendly staff. Although areas are cordoned off, it is done cleverly. The shop has the standard stuff, lovely staff, and the restaurant is well run with lots on offer, hot and cold.

We stayed at The Bakery at Tatsfield nr. Westerham. Would highly recommend the accommodation and restaurant and it is near Chartwell - about 6 miles away I think. Enjoy your trip!

Never been at Chartwell. His campaign car was sold by auction to a US buyer in 2016 at Blenheim. Maybe it was at Chartwell as part of an exhibition?

Around the main building there is only a little walking. Extend to the immediate gardens and it is all paved and still an easy walk. If you to wish to extend out to far reaches of the grounds then you will be off the paved... More
