Thought we would go to Southend for the day. Not been for years. Went on the Gravesend to Tilbury ferry. Used our bus passes so it didn’t cost us anything. Fast crossing very warm on the ferry. Left on time beats the Dartford Tunnel congestion...More

Due to the high winds the Dartford Bridge was closed and I used the Gravesend ferry to get to Essex. 3 minutes to get across and £3 return . Crew were friendly and offered me a hot drink which was nice.

Right next to cruise terminal you drive down onto the huge pontoon where you board the ferry. Parking on the pontoon is free all day, we usually arrive just before 10am and we always get a empty spot.
