It was a great experience mooching around the stalls in the market. We'd been told there wasn't much there but we found it a busy and cheerful place, especially the stallholders. They were attentive, friendly and helpful.

You can find a great selection of goods at reasonable prices and different types of food outlets and cafes and then pop upstairs to the shopping centre.

Like visiting local markets and seeing the food stalls. Not as big as Bolton or Bury but does have some decent food stalls. A really good artisan butchers were I bought sausages and some nice pie stalls. Liked the fact there are many eating outlets...More

Definitely one, possibly two. The new market is all on one level and at least one of the fabric stalls is quite central, away from the food.
