Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A worthwhile walk if only for the exercise and the views, but if you actually want to visit the lighthouse itself it would be a good idea to check the opening hours. We didn't and it was shut. Never mind.

Check the opening times if you want to visit the museum. Easy to get to from Calella. Walk down the steps at the first bar/restaurant you get to if walking on the beach side then under the duel carriageway. There are clean toilets at the top (take your own loo roll just in case)

Let me first point out that the lighthouse isn’t easy to get to as the Calella tourist board feels that part of the fun is guessing where things are as they only place signs when you are at the destination, so can I suggest you don’t do what we did and wonder around looking for it only to end up lost in a lot of papyrus, look it up on google.
Anyway when you get there , it does have excellent views but whatever you do, don’t pay the one euro to look around inside the light house as you can’t go in the tower part and it has lots of irrelevant and pointlessly short information about the history of everything other than the lighthouse.
I will say that people who liked the montage in Team America will love the video about Calella in the lighthouse that has a lot of montages and very dramatic music.
Thinking about it , pay the one euro so you can enjoy he montage of unrelated images.
Everyone loves a montage.

A nice wander out from the town up the hill to the lighthouse, take the road out of town and there is a segregated path between the road and the sea, it's a bit of a climb, great views. Cross by the wooden bridge (go on quite a bit past the lighthouse and the path doubles back) as the road is busy and fast. The times listed at the bottom of the last part of the path are not accurate and only when we climbed to the top did we meet the closed gate. It's a shame they don't just close the museum but the whole area is locked out. Nice walk, nice views of the coast - but saw nothing of the lighthouse that you can't see from the beach!

Although it is up hill the walk is not as far as it seems. The exhibition is quite interesting but the views are the best part. Make sure you cross the road using the wooden bridge which you cannot see from the main beach. Just keep walking round and you will find it. The road is too dangerous to attempt to cross without it.

Calella 's lighthouse is definetly worth a visit. From the patio you can see as far as the costa brava on a clear day and from the other patio you can see as far as Barcelona (The outline of the Hotel W) also on a clear day. The communications musuem is also so interesting . There is a list of all the lighthouse keepers from the very begining of its construction in 1859. Also in the museum you can see how they commincated in the towns by use of the church bells (there wee different rings got baptisms, deaths, fire, etc. So interesting and beautifully kept.

The lighthouse is great to get away from the hotel and beach for an evening walk. It opens between 5 and 9pm. Its a bit steep to get up there but even my 4 year old made it so its not that bad. Once you get there. The views are breath taking.

The walk to the lighthouse is a pleasant seaside stroll to one of the best viewpoints in Calella. The little museum inside the lighthouse gives a good history of the area and the terrace offers an expansive view of the Emerald and blue waters of the Mediterranean. It is well worth the walk. It's also about a thirty minute light stroll to get there from the centre of Calella. It only costs one euro for the lighthouse entrance.

Went there with my young son. You have the option to walk, take a taxi to the main road then walk up hill or take the little mini "train" that goes round the Town.
Theres not much information on the lighthouse, the bar was closed but the view is breath taking, worth walking up there.
