The walk up from the beach is through narrow, cobbled, bougainvillea lined streets and the view over Cadaques is worth the walk in itself. However, go into the church and marvel at the beautifully carved wooden structure behind the altar. It is atmospheric without the...More

I'm not a church lover and generally avoid at all times but this little gem is worth the history and has stunning views across Cadaques just outside.

Right in the middle of the town this church is definitely worth a visit. The decoration and the artwork inside are stunning. Please ensure you make a donation before you leave to ensure the church can be maintained

A Euro will light up the spectacular altar and a kindly old chap will fill those minutes with explanatory details in Spanish or Catalan. An interesting point is that this church actively welcomes and has a chapel for, all other religious denominations.

Although closed when we were there, we cold still enjoy the courtyard and peer in to see the magnificent alter.

Up the side of this mountain is a monastery constructed by St Benedictine monks starting in the 10th century. Well worth the trip which is rewarded by views that are incredible. The monastery itself is an interesting historical artifact.
