We visited it, but it is not in use anymore, or if it is they work in the Stone Age. Nice to see the different salt dry lakes and the history it carries. You need not more then 10minutes to see it.

In November is nice and quiet and around 20-22 C. It's a very tranquil place and the restaurant is top notch. Very good food and the staff is great. Well worth the visit.

It's worth taking the old road out of Playa Blanca as you pass the salt mines which are worth stopping to look at and photograph. A passing visit rather than a long stop...

It is fascinating to see the salt being formed and claimed from the sea. The works have a pleasing geometry on a wild volcanic island, with some lovely colours. I have gone here on a couple of occasions at sunset and got some fabulous photographs.

We just stopped there on our way to the national park to look at the salt mines from closer, interesting view. Met a friendly cat there as well!
