If u book through hotel they will provide a bus. There are public buses but not sure where they stop. It takes about 45 mins depends on traffic. Well worth a visit though

We got the free bus as part of the package with tickets from el Arenal, was about 45minites

yes there are showers in the toilet block opposite the reptile entrance and open showers on the beach but I didn't see any changing rooms.
