The Hospital de Santiago is the biggest Renaissance building in Ubeda and it was constructed by the architect Andres de Vandelvira. Since it is very big, it is considered as the Andalusian El Escorial. Diego de los Cobos was the Bishop of Jaen and he...More

This is a very grand building; however it is rather plain and uninteresting. It actually looks much younger than it is. It currently is a cultural centre for Ubeda locals with a library, exhibition halls and other cultural spaces. It is a little way from...More

Today it does not serve as a hospital, but can be used for gatherings and performences as it has a huge hall. It also has a small church which is intersting.

An impressive structure a little distance from most of the historic centre of Ubeda but worth the effort of walking through the main shopping area to get there. It is used as a local cultural centre. When we visited, there was large gathering of lace...More

The building is stunning with lovely gardens. There was a photo and painting exhibition on with very poignant photos of people in India, which made you realize how lucky you are. The water colour paintings were fantastic

The hospital is an interesting historic building and as we were nearby decided to visit. Nothing inside was that compelling and I wouldn't suggest going a long distance to visit. Took a photo and that was it.

The old hospital is worth a visit outside the old city of Ubeda. It has a relaxing atmosphere. Their are different salons. Unfortunatly they are not Always open. But give it a try, there is lot to see during a tourist visit.

This a really beautiful mid 16th century building to the NW of the centre of the old city of Ubeda. It is still very much in use as a concert hall, dance school, library and exhibition area.
