The hospital is one of the most important buildings of Renaissance Ubeda and its central location makes it an historic highlight; of the old area. It was built in the 16th century as a refuge and medical treatment center for the poor. There are murals,...More

This big hospital built about 1560, architect naturally mostly Vandelvira. The imposing facade must be seen in Ubeda. Also have a look inside, especially the big patio. It was used as a hospital until well into the 20th century. Today they use the inside to...More

In beautiful setting of the Chapel with its decorated roof and olive wood carved retablo we enjoyed a free concert, first by the youth band (brass and woodwind) then the adult band. Well supported by local people. Very impressive building which seems well used with...More

The building is stunning with lovely gardens. There was a photo and painting exhibition on with very poignant photos of people in India, which made you realize how lucky you are. The water colour paintings were fantastic

The hospital is an interesting historic building and as we were nearby decided to visit. Nothing inside was that compelling and I wouldn't suggest going a long distance to visit. Took a photo and that was it.

The old hospital is worth a visit outside the old city of Ubeda. It has a relaxing atmosphere. Their are different salons. Unfortunatly they are not Always open. But give it a try, there is lot to see during a tourist visit.

This a really beautiful mid 16th century building to the NW of the centre of the old city of Ubeda. It is still very much in use as a concert hall, dance school, library and exhibition area.

Brilliant gallery for art exhibitions. It was a bit manic with a Star Wars film and stuff festival. This is a bit outside the city centre but I hope tourists will visit.

We were not expecting much at the Hospital de Santiago - after all, entry is free and there were no other tourists in sight. It is a large, solid Renaissance-era building, impressive in its own right. We were more impressed when we entered through the...More

It is the biggest Renaissance building in Ubeda and it was constructed by the architect Andres de Vandelvira. Since it is very big, it is considered as the Andalusian El Escorial. One can go in the building and see its large and beautiful patio. There...More
