Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a picnic park where you can enjoy nature. It is really big so it can have some about of people without being overcrowded and also it turns out to be completely safe when talking about social distancing measures for covid-19. It has picnic tables and appropriated spaces for barbecues. The restrooms are not that big deal but the park has no one taking care of it, or at least by the time we went there. There's a little bar with some traditional liquors and coffee but it's a little bit expensive for what it has to offer... but it's the only one.
Most of all me loved to take a walk in the park and my little boy loved it as well. You can really feel and breath nature in here. There's a little river that charms the place.
The best way to get here is by car. There's free parking around button enough for the visitors most of the time.

It's like a mirror! The lake shapes the trees and it's visually astonishing! Went there during the fall and the winter :)

This is a great place to view the rock faces around and to have some tranquil time. It is a short walk from the road but well worth it. You find peace there although I expect it can get quite busy at times.

The place is nothing out of ordinary, good for a small rest if passing by, not worthy going out of your way for visiting.

Could be better taken care of.

Limited parking place for the summer months.

I went because it was very well rated so I went. Most of the tables for picnic were broken, the restrooms were some close the others discusgusting. I spoke with some people who told me that some time ago like 7 years ago was a very nice place and there was a man taking care of the place, but now it is totally left without any care. Not worth it, plus I think I catch some type of bug like flea or red mite or some type of small bug that bit my son and me all over the legs and back. Maybe in the past was a great place, now, after reading all the wonderful ratings I must say it was greatly disappointing.

Realmente horrible.

Covão d’Ametade is a serene and scenic area that was once a grassland where deer went to feed. It formed in a glacial depression, overlooked by three rocky Cántaros (mounts or ridges of stone). The Zêzere river flows through the covão, where its banks are lined by silver birch trees, creating a very photogenic scene. From here, the river flows for 200km before it empties into the Tejo River at Constancia.

To get to Covão d’Ametade, I had to ride up the beautiful Zêzere glacial valley – a well-formed U-shaped valley that is over 10km in length. There are several places along the road where vehicles van pull in to admire the view and read the tourist information boards. The entrance to Covão d’Ametade is located at the point of a sharp hairpin bend, on the climb up the valley. There is a parking area at the side of the road that will hold several vehicles.

There were only a handful of people present at the time that I visited, on a Sunday afternoon, but it is clearly a popular picnic spot. It is well shaded, beautiful and has the shallow river for wading.

The GR33 hiking trail also passes through this spot, so hikers could park here and hike up to the peak of the mountain.

Beautiful magical place. We took advantage of the trip to the tower and stopped at the covão d'ametade. It's a quiet, peaceful and super beautiful place for a family walk. The landscape is magical 😍
