I use to come to Luso as a kid and loved it. On our trip I cold not believe how it had changed and that it was almost a ghost town. The fountain was similar but it just didn't have the magic like before.

In the centre of Luso, nothing much to see here, however you can quench your thirst at this fountain of mountain water.

The water is very good, really worst to fill the bottles as all the locals do!

Good water, in the town center, Luso spa located nearby.
A place to hydrate yourself and rest in a small park around the fountain, or have a snack in the cafes around the square.

A superb little town perched on a hillside with stunning views that last forever. I queued behind the locals as they filled their bottles with this magnificent spring water. Loved the little church.

When passing by go down to the fountain for a drink. It's very nice. People stop here and fill their bottles all the time! Why buy Luso water when you can get it directly from the source!

Quiet mountainside town

Luso is a quiet mountainside town near the northern tip of Buçaco National Park. It’s known for its mineral springs and thermal baths. A charming village to explore, also with the São João Fountain in the village square where anyone can fill up their bottles with mineral water. In the same square sits a small 18th century chapel called “Capela de São João” Evangelista. The neighbouring town of Buçaco is also a must see. This was an unscheduled stop for us and did not disappoint.

Mineral water fountain

Been here loads and certainly worth a visit. You see so many people maiden with empty water jugs to fill up on free luso mineral water.

Just a fountain where you can get fresh water and fill your bottles. Normally a lot of people is picking water here. Nothing special (the fountain) but the water is very good.
