The start of our walking holiday with MacAdventures, this deceptively long walk is worth doing. It is long and in some places very steep, but well defined - just follow the crowds. We got a bus there and back no problem. There is a cafe...More

Our second visit here and the views are just as stunning. We only did part of the walk - to the jagged rocks - and didn't find it too strenuous. Walking shoes advised if it has been raining. The entire walk must be spectacular, but...More

We took the 113 bus from Machico to the end of the line, Baia D'abra. The walk was wonderful and not too off putting if you are scared of heights.

A very popular 'easy' walk on the eastern tip of the island. Arkingis difficult if you are it there early. It is a path most of the way but it is not smooth in places. There is a place for drinks before the main climb...More

Different than many other view point in Madeira. Most of them show you green lush sceneries. This one shows you an arid area. Great views

Fantastic place to visit for a day-hike. Dramatic views both north and south, and not too difficult trail - some ups and downs but rarely long or steep. Some trails are narrow however and you need a good head for heights (which I don't). Very...More

Ponta de Sao Lourenco, located in the eastern most point of the island. If you have plenty of time I would suggest you to spend time to walk until the edge of it or atleast do a half of it (it take around 3hrs back...More

Come early because it gets very crowded during the day. Even the generous parking area gets full. The path is excellent. Beautiful viewpoints along the path. Spectacular cliffs. Wild nature. Dramatic ocean. Beautiful islands in the horizon. Quite strenous with a lot of walking up...More

I would recommend to go there by bus. We went from Machico by foot and it was terrible. 99% of time we must go on the road next to cars etc. However the view is amazing. At the End of the road is bus station.

A good sticky/grippy sole is the most important thing here- some of the descents are slippery because of loose sand and pebbles. I wore low cut, light weight, water friendly Merrells with a vibram sole for all the hikes we... More
