A little context perhaps. Great walk, beautifully scenery, easy to get to and ample parking. So far, so good. However........the 8-9 km trek should be a piece of cake for average levels of fitness and ability. It wasn't. Rough terrain, steep slopes in parts, a...More

We had been there for a Walking path, but it was more than we expected . The seaviews to both coasts and the Highlands impression makes it an awesome natural experience .

This is a beautiful 9kms easy walk with the ocean on both sides of the trail. You can also find a beautiful little beach close to the Sao Lourenco point so you may want to take some towels with you.

While Madeira is better known for its mountain-side levada hikes, you should not miss out on Ponta dSL. Set on the island's east coast, the hike takes you into an unreal savannah-cum-cliffs landscape. Depending on your condition you may expect to hike 3-4hrs. Good shoes...More
