About
A replica of The Homecoming statue can be found in Norfolk's Town Point Park. Norfolk is considered the Navy's "hometown," and the city is a perfect place for a Homecoming statue to reside. The statue was placed in Town Point Park on October 14, 2000 in honor of Navy families.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There are a lot of statues here and they are really neat depicting Navy life. We walked along the waterfront and could see many ships in the harbor as well as a great park. It is a place to enjoy a day. Many places to it and there is a cafe inside the nautilus as well.

This is a beautiful statue that captures the emotion of sailors and their families being separated while the father is at sea.

Great statue and must visit while in Norfolk. So worth walking by it if you're on the waterfront to get a picture of it and read about the statue.

Located in the park, next to the Battleship at the end of mail street. If you were in the Navy, you might want to stop.

just like the lone sailor statue at Nauticus, this statue reflects the Navy life really is, the joy of coming back home and embrace the family after an 8 or 9 months deployment, it is very rewarding and a nice feeling to hug the loved ones. It brings back plenty of memories as I am a retire NAVY PO.

This statue brings out the tears if you view it and think about its significance. Not every Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or Marine comes home, so the reunion of those who do is even more special. Great area around it for which to walk or have a picnic.

We are a military family. Seeing this statue located in the park downtown brings back memories. You can feel their love and tears by viewing this. Shows the family hugging their returned sailor.

Attractive statue depicting a sailor coming home from deployment. It's located in an attractive waterfront park in downtown Norfolk just outside of the Nauticus.

This is a sailor being greeted by his family. Particularly expressive is his young son. This is located in Town Point Park. Apparently, this is a copy of the original, which is located at the United States Navy Memorial in Washington, DC.
