This is a great museum for everything MacArthur. They have lots of very nice artifacts and displays to look at and read. The facilities are well kept. The staff is friendly. It's free of charge, but donations are certainly accepted. I really enjoyed visiting this museum. My only complaint was that the signage/layout was a little confusing to me in... More

So much to see about how his military life parallels the military history of the 20th Century. Very moving exhibits, especially that of the battle for the Philippines. This is an impressive memorial. Within walking distance of the Hampton Roads Naval Museum and Battleship Wisconsin.

As a WWII and a MacArthur buff this is a jewel I am glad I saw. To see his monument that was worthy of his title of American Caesar was awesome, considering that he was fired by the President and should have been. I was amazed at the fine collection of artifacts and documents. Wish I had known to allow... More

Anyone interested in the military history it is a must see. The museum is small, however, it contains many interesting artifacts. There is a movie as well. The museum is located about 3 city blocks from the port so it is within walking distance if you have arrived via a cruise ship. At the port there is a naval museum... More

What a great find! Amanda Williams and James Zobel were over the top helpful. We enjoyed the museum and make sure you see all the buildings and grounds. Very well done and it is free which is amazing in these times.

This is a fantastic memorial and museum that you should spend some time seeing if you're interested in military history. Tons of exhibits and displays along with a nice intro film. Free. Right next to the shopping mall so just walk across street.

Located in downtown Norfolk, the visitor's center and memorial have many exhibits that go into the life and times of Douglas MacArthur. Would suggest starting your visit at the visitor's center, adjacent to the memorial. A 20+ minute film gives a biographical background of MacArthur. After the film, you can tour the exhibits and then walk next door to the... More

Here, you will see all the great things that this American Hero did during his 52 years of serving his country. It is a little one sided in its presentation, but it's also a Memorial built by MacArthur before he died. Lots of great history and a not-to-miss if in the area.

It was an interesting education on the life of Douglas MacArthur. I especially enjoyed the sections about WW2. It was a great way to spend an hour while the Mrs. was next door at the mall. The General and his wife are buried in the rotunda.
