Enoteca Falorni is the largest enoteca in Tuscany featuring over 1,000 selected wines with more than 100 wines available for tasting, using the innovative enomatic(R) system. The Enoteca is located underground in the historical centre of Greve in Chianti on the site of the first large wine cellar founded by noble land owners of the area (considered the authentic fore bearers of the Chianti Classico consortium). The historical structure has ample spaces with arched brick ceilings, corridors and smaller rooms (originally used as grape storage areas) and tells the story of its long history as a wine cellar that for years represented the economic heart of Greve in Chianti, boasting a line of illustrious owners. Constructed in 1893 by Ernesto Leproni, the location was used as cellars by the Union of Chianti Classico producers in 1906 and subsequently purchased in 1913 by Count Emanuele Mirafiori d'Alba, until being sold to the Gancia di Canelli brothers in 1932. In the 1960's and 1970's the site belonged to the Italo-American dei Paterno family and was left in an abandoned state in 1975. In 1999 the premises were purchased by the Bencista Falorni family and were transformed into the present day Enoteca Falorni, with the aim to promote and give valour to Chianti Classico wines. Its elegance and the presence of more than 1,000 principally Tuscan wines with others from further Italian regions as well as sparkling wines, dessert wines, grappa and olive oil render the Enoteca Falorni an authentic "temple to wine".

This is an excellent way to taste many different wines from Chianti, Montalcino, Montepulciano and other important Tuscan wine areas. There were perhaps 80-90 different wines set up in their dispensing machines and you can choose how much you would like. Two of us tried...More

This is a great concept, combining self-service wine tasting with a comfortable, relaxing space in which to drink them. We have been to several iterations of this kind of place and this one, in the center of Greve, was the best yet. You pay either...More

What else would you do in Chianti but visit the vineyards and winery. This is cool, cool wine cellar for tastings where you can taste and purchase hundreds of wines from the area. They also serve some cheeses and cold-cuts to enjoy your wines with....More

Very nice place with good different wines. There is also the lunch service, which I did not take, but in general the place is very nice.

Positive: Nice atmosphere due to the interior design and jazz music playing in the background. Lots of wines to taste. We got very good recommendations at every station of wines fitting our budget (20-25 EUR per bottle). We left with 6 very nice bottles. Negative:...More

Brilliant visit, phenomenal wines, if a little pricey some of them, but having it all in one place is just a splash of delight! Wines have pride of place, but there are olive oils and vinegars to sample as well. The full-service kitchen will make...More

We visited Enoteca Falorni as we were part of a hen party and the bride wanted to go wine tasting. I think just knowing that she didn't like Italian wines before the tasting, and she left having ordered a few bottles of wine, shows that...More
