- guidebooktraveler835 contributionsImpressive Chianti wines with view to match!Reserved Classic Wine Tour at 10 am. Excellent value. Easy parking for us as the first tour. When we were leaving the next tours were having to wait for parking spaces to open up. Gorgeous scenery of the Chianti region. Stunning tour of the gardens and pond water feature. Wonderful tour of barrel rooms, store rooms and the separate building where they hang the grapes vertically to dry to prepare the Vin Santo dessert wine. Interesting tour full of information and a good tour guide. Our group was lucky enough to have our tasting outside on the beautiful terrace with a stunning view. There was an arbor with grapevines and grapes hanging down to add to the lovely ambience. Colorful Paper placements made for the winery with glasses already set on the table made for the beautiful presentation for the tasting. Halfway through our tasting, the owner came through and chatted with guests. The history here is special and the next generations continue to carry on their traditions. The wines were top-notch and delicious. Hard to choose which ones to ship home. This was one of our favorite wineries and tours during our two week stay in Italy!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 29 October 2023
- Frank PNew Hope, Pennsylvania95 contributionsYes it’s related somewhat to the famous NY bridge! What a great experience! Ugh and I can’t remember the host who conducted our tasting! Sorry! It was top notch. Much more time and attention to the wines than we expected. A beautiful venue and the history of the owners was interesting. It’s an indoor/outdoor tour so hopefully weather is as good as ours!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 November 2023

- kelleyjm67 contributionsBeautiful Winery & Amazing LunchSuch a great experience visiting one of the oldest wineries in Tuscany. The castle and countryside are beautiful for photos. Julia was a fabulous guide & told us about the history of the family as well as the New York connection. Organic farm with delicious lunch & 5 different wines to taste. I would highly recommend. This place was a highlight on our visit to Tuscany!Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 23 May 2024
- DaveStafford, United Kingdom34 contributionsFantastic winery tour paired with exceptional food and wine that caters well for vegetariansFrom the friendly welcome, the interesting tour and fantastic meal and wine I cannot recommend this place enough. We chose the guided tour and meal with wine tasting package. All in all the tour was about one hour long with some interesting historical stories about Verrazzano and the wine making process. We then had the meal in the main restaurant which was four courses of traditional Tuscan food. We started with a cold meat and cheese platter moved onto a pasta dish and then onto some grilled sausage and chops finished off with some apple cake, the whole meal was paired with wines from the Veranzzano winery. My wife who is mainly vegetarian requested this option and the quality of the vegetarian meal was excellent with a wide variety of different Tuscan delicacies The quality of the wines and food was exceptional and the amount we received was more than enough. We went away feeling extremely full! The views you get from the tour are stunning as is the whole area. I highly recommend the trip to the Verrazzano castle and one of the organised tours.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 June 2024

Our tour guide Georgio was a delight and full of knowledge, the wine was really good and the lunch was lovely too! I’d say definitely skip breakfast if you’re coming for the lunch experience as it was a lot of food but all of it delicious. Was one of the highlights of our holiday!Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 June 2024
- MaverickHong Kong, China21 contributionsMust Visit. Once in a Life Time Opportunity. Memorable Experience. Our hotel in Florence recommended several wine tasting and winery tours. Castello di Verrazzano was one of the places that was recommended. We chose to go to Castello di Verrazzano due to the good reviews. It did not disappoint. It was actually one of the highlights of our tour, which our whole family really enjoyed. We chose to do the Chianti Tradition, which starts at 11:00 am, which includes the tour and light lunch. The cost is EURO 48 per person for adults over 18. If your children is under 18 you have a EURO 9 discount and your children are served juices instead of wine. We really enjoyed the tour and the landscape of Castello di Verrazzano. The light lunch wasn't light it was a large portion and was very full. They give you four different types of wine to taste. They also provided desert as well. The good thing is that you don't need to pay in advance. You book but you pay after the tour and the light lunch. We started at 11:00 am and finished around 12:45 pm. When you finish depends on how long you take to finish your light lunch. Our tour guide had in-depth knowledge about the place and also about wines. She was very helpful and kind as she helped take pictures of our family during the tour.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 15 August 2024

Be prepared for bus tours of people turning up, rude staff, a compulsory and lengthy tour before your tasting, and mediocre wines. They try to pretend it is family owned, but it is not, they sold out to a corporation.
Stay away.

We stayed two nights at the Foresteria Casa Nova which is just a bit up the hill with a nice view of the vineyards and the neighbouring Castello. It is a charming and quaint place with a very comfortable room and we quite enjoyed our stay. Simone at the main office was extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations in town and with anything we asked about. He even arranged for us to have our breakfast delivered to us the night before we left as we had to leave early on our last morning.
We did the gastronomic specialities tour and tasting and loved it. The Castello and grounds were beautiful and the tour very interesting. But the highlight was definitely the tasting as the food and wine was delicious. A plateful of salami, cheeses and crostino was more than enough for our lunch. And the wine was very good and I'm still very much looking forward to having that last bottle we brought home that I've been saving.
The breakfast served at the Foresteria was also very good with again more wonderful salami and cheese, cappuccino and cake. We ate both dinners in the town of Grieve and had two great meals.
We also drove around several of the surrounding towns including Panzano and loved all the views in the Chianti region. Definitely recommend the tasting tour and staying here for your time in Chianti.

Today I went with a friend to visit Castello di Verrazzano, we started ordering a bottle of Minituscan and a bottle of water, the approach from the waiter was: where we were from and if we were there for vacation to analyse how much we would probably spend, we where the first ones to get a table outside but the last ones to be served, people that arrived later and ordered expensive bottles were having the customer service and our table was completely ignored. It’s such a shame, because we were decided to keep ordering but after while we gave up and went away. Extremely disappointed! I would not recommend the experience in this place!

We arrived here and were already in love with the view. The tour is pretty interesting. You can see the barrels where the wine is stored, some of the private wines collection of the owner and more. A very typical and tasty dinner closed a very pleasant morning.

We booked in the morning and arrived by 12 noon for a short tour and lunch/wine tasting. This was our third time there and always learn new things about this place and it’s wine. The wine tasting was excellent especially for me the Reserve was the best. Food was also fabulous- starting with the ham, then pasta, followed by grilled rib/sausages and then wine and desert. Price was €62 per person while they generously let our young kids ate free (mostly pasta). Truly enjoyed this experience again and will be back. Highly recommended!

We opted for Classic Wine Tour Speciale Sabato, expecting 1h20min visit of the reinessance gardens and historical cellars. Unfortunatelly, we did not see gardens at all, and visit to the cellars was very brief. Wine tasting was ok, but 24 EUR per person is very close to plain robbery. Avoid if possible.

Great Day trip option for a break from Florence. It was about an hour or so drive from Florence, beautiful route and stunning views. The wine is average, but the tour was delightful and fun, it is a beautiful property and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Very sweet and kind, and took time to answer questions and give lots of interesting information. The tour is quick, just the right amount of time, the Wine tasting felt a little rushed. We also had the opportunity to meet the owner and admire his racing bicycles. The owner's daughter also trained as a beekeeper so there was lots of beautiful plants for bees. The views and property are breathtaking. There is a town just a short driving distance from the winery where there was a great bistro for lunch and a little small downtown plaza to wander.

Hello,
we will be visiting in May, and I wanted to know if children are allowed on the tour? They are 5 & 7 years old and well behaved.

I plan on attending the 3pm tour and tasting. Tour details indicate this takes approx 90 minutes and comes with olive oil and vinegar. Website also indicates the restaurant on the property closes at 330pm.
My question: if we do the 3pm-430 tour, will it be too late to get some small apps (bruschetta, salamis, cheese, etc) after the tour?
Written 16 February 2020
Hi, We did the full tour that included an incredible lunch with lots of wine. I really can't answer your question about timing. It is a winding steep road up to the castle. I was thankful we had a driver from our hotel . I would strongly suggest you try to do the tour that includes the lunch. It was fabulous and relaxing in a great room.

Bgiorno è possibile pernottare nel castello o solo visita e ristorazione? Grazie
Written 22 January 2019
