This story is a story of tragedy exacerbated for centuries. Glad to see a statement from the pope there correcting the wrong. Very interesting building and knowing it was a designation for many pilgrims for many years is fascinating.

Right in the center of the town on a little hill, towers the framework of the Wernerkapelle. Not much information on site, but still worth it to visit when in town.

The round walk along the old city walls is well worth the effort. The views are stunning. The history is everywhere. Great stuff.

For us this was a pass by on the hike to burg stahleck. Ruin is pretty, view is good, some signage in English.
