What a wonderful way to spend the day! The park is clean and offers nice walking trails around the freshwater lakes. Fishing and picnicking are always fun if you take the time to pack your basket, pole, and bait. If not, you can always spare...More

I have frequented this park for couple reasons. One is family/friends picnic, other is children entertainment and walk (exercises) around the trails. If you love animal kingdom this a great place for watch turtles, dears, rabbits, and poison snakes!!!!! Good thing it is free.

The park is littered with civil war fortifications - you can actually walk the trenches and dugouts that were erected during the Peninsula campaign of McClellan. It is the actual dugouts - not reenactments. Also overall its a nice park for picnics, hiking, etc.

One of the best city parks I have been to, very well laid out, large sites, close to many attractions. New reception center. The only draw back is it doesn't have sewage, must dump on way out.
