We wound up drinking the Canorgue blanc for our whole trip 12 years ago when our restaurant served it to us, to only discover when we got home that we drove past the winery pretty much every day without knowing it.

We have been buying 3 or 4 cases of it every year since.

This trip, I made sure to search out the winery online. We had since seen the movie, which was quite enjoyable, but it was the winery we wanted to visit. We checked opening times online, and we were quite aware that visiting is to taste the wine and enjoy the gorgeous property around the wine shop. As many others have noted, the house is where the family lives. That said, while the grounds are not those from the film, they are absolutely beautiful.

We spent an excellent hour tasting the many different wines they produce, and enjoying a crystal clear Luberon late morning in their gardens.

Please note- while the winery does tastings, and sells wine and related items, this is not some massive estate with hordes of hosts and tour buses coming in. It is a fantastic regional winery. All that said, the winery is welcoming of visitors.

If you enjoy the wines of Provence (or any wines really) this is a fantastic stop when you are in Provence.

Drove over an hour to visit, and when we asked to use the restroom we were told "Non." Very rude. How can a business that serves the public either not have a restroom or deny guests use of it? No apologies, no suggestions, so we turned around and drove back. Nice drive there from Loumarin but I would not recommend bothering.

My wife and I visited Chateau la Canorgue at the beginning of June, as part of a month long road trip around France in my MX5, therefore we didn't have much room for extra items! This is the one place I didn't want to miss! Yes I became aware of the Chateau because of the film, I also was aware that the family had been tormented by over the top and thoughtless fans and I was very careful not to come across as one of those. I confess I love the film, as does my wife and I was so exited but also nervous that it wouldn't live up to my expectations. Also through reading about it, I knew that this was a real vineyard and it had a long history in wine making and had won awards for it's wine.
So I made sure we arrived on a sunny day because I wanted our visit to be perfect! It was, we sort of found it hard to believe that we were actually there after seeing this place in the film so many times. But to me it was even more beautiful and peaceful than I imagined it would be.
We went straight to the lovely building where you can taste the wine, there were a few pictures etc. of the filming. However the family are real wine makers and that is their priority. So a lovely lady who spoke very good English (thank goodness, for my French isn't good ) let us try a few different wines Red, Rose and White, we chose two Rose and two Coin Perdu, well we just had to! I knew at that point we had probably given the game away because the lady gave us a little smile and we smiled back.
Shortly after, we left the tasting with our box of wine under my arm, I really wish we could have had room for more. We then had a walk round the garden, which the family obviously don't mind because they have a sign pointing it's direction and as long as people don't go too far, they seem quite happy for people to enjoy this beautiful place. The Chateau is not open to the public and that should be respected but you can sense in the quietness and the beautiful surroundings, how it must feel to live in this wonderful place, as you walk among the vines and by the lily pond in the garden and see Bonnieux on the hillside.
After our trip was over and we were home again, we found the right moment, sat in front of our TV, yes I know it's a bit sad and I had planned to do this, but we put on a DVD of the film , opened a bottle of the Chateau la Canorgue Rose and it transported us right back to our visit to Bonnieux. We looked at each other and kept a smile on our face the whole time we watched. You would have too.
If you are in lucky enough to be in Bonnieux or the surrounding area. By the way there are lots of great restaurants in and around Bonnieux, don't miss the chance to visit Chateau la Canorgue and don't leave without at least a couple of bottles of their fantastic wine. I can't wait until the next time I get to go back and I will definitely be making more room in the boot for an extra case next time round!

Went there to see the place so well described. Unfortunately nobody makes available the fact that you are not even allowed to walk near the house or gardens. Just the sales office. The wine is good and the staff attentive but they should be transparent about the privacy policy related to the property…

Wine is good, but sold by an arrogant, old woman. She seems to think that because her château was the set for a Hollywood movie, she can do anything she wants and the customers will come any way.

We came on our honeymoon and the family was great. We’re quite friendly and it is a beautiful place. Thank you again. Even gave us one extra bottle as a gift!

Let me start off by saying over the last 5 years I have gone out of my way to visit la Canorgue on an annual basis. I love the area, I love the vineyard, I love the wine, but I suffer the staff because of it. I understand the recent legacy of the place. I am aware they are overrun by the selfie generation who want only to snap conceited snaps due to its involvement with Russel Crowe and “A Good Year”.

For those of us who visit to purchase a case or more on regular visits I would really like to feel just a little appreciated. I’m sure that my custom is not a factor in whether they sink or swim but just once, how about an engaging chat or a thank you for returning.

The wines are excellent. The cave is a lovely respite from the August heat. And the surroundings lower my blood pressure significantly. Please go and enjoy the things on offer, just don’t expect a gracious response.

We knew that the chateau was a private home, but we thought the winery offered more than a store front. We were disapointed.

Great property. They are against people that want to see more of the scenery but they are super sweet once you get to know them. Wicked great time hearing about the family business!

10 of 10 for beauty and wines!

My girlfriend and I did a wine tasting here today and left with several cases. The more full-bodied wines were delicious and offer great value for money given their price of around €10.
The personal chat with Jean Pierre and the beautiful labels on the bottle probably made it taste even better.

Being both a wine and film lover I too would have loved to see the chateau from the movie but, being a visitor in another country on someone else’s property 13 years after the movie was shot, I think we should all respect the privacy of the family that lives there!
In other words: go there for the wine, to meet the family producing it and visit the Bonnieux village. Those are great reasons to go!

Looking forward to seeing you again in the future.
