The whole trail is shaded and only opens up at the waterfall itself. Not too busy but not empty around 13:00 and the fall is still worth seeing in the Dry Season. 40 minutes from car park to fall if you stop at viewpoints and take photos, 20 minutes if you don’t stop. Advisable to wear shoes as although the trail is fairly easy, there are parts that are momentarily steep or require proper footholds.Visited February 2024Travelled soloWritten 20 February 2024
- Sarah PluieMontreuil, France153 contributionsVery nice waterfall but expensive and no swimming everywhereThe waterfall is beautiful! Seen during the rainy season so really a lot of water... even on the access road (provide shoes accordingly) on the other hand forbidden to swim there. You can only swim below with carp fish in a pool with a little current. Pricey entrance (200 bht per person)Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 6 August 2024
- Eyal C463 contributionsDoubt if the price and effort were worth it...A shady and wooded path, rich in flora and fauna, along an amazing stream, clear and sweet, the waterfall is very impressive, high, in front of it is a beautiful pool. But! The entrance fee is 200 baht for an adult and 100 baht for a child and there is no access to the waterfall nor to the pool in front of it, there is a guard and a physical barrier in the place (a taut rope as a border). This is very disappointing! So disappointing that I doubt if the price and effort were worth it...Visited October 2024Travelled with familyWritten 9 October 2024
- George W8 contributionsPretty waterfall and swimming holeThis is a nice, short walk to a pretty waterfall. We enjoyed it. The path is uneven with lots of rocks to use for clearing over mud and very shallow water, but not terribly difficult. Take your time. They do not allow swimming in the top pool near the big waterfall but you are welcome to wade and swim at points below the upper pool. The water was cool and refreshing. 20 Baht for Thais 200Baht for foreigners. Some complain that this is unfair but there are costs to maintaining national parks and attractions. A pleasant way to pass 30 minutes for a quick peek or an hour or 2 if you take some time for a swim.Visited October 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 October 2024
- WingecarribeeCanberra, Australia2,471 contributionsNatureVisited Klong Phlu Waterfall as one of the sites on a day trip around the island of Koh Chang (on this day the mini van was me and tourists from various European counties). Bit of a hike in the rainforest and its amazing screeching insect (track more or less follows the river) to reach the waterfall where people gathered with some enjoying a dip in the pool. Fish in the pool nibble at your feet. Visitors went back and forth along the track as a tourist site, but still worth doing. Perhaps better to visit independently rather that as part of a tourist group. That way give yourself more time to sit and appreciate the falls and forest; also other things to explore in the Mu Koh Chang National Park. Maybe take a picnic. A nice natural place on Koh Chang.Visited November 2024Travelled soloWritten 27 January 2025

We got to the waterfall on a bike. Entrance fee is 200 baht. During the day, you can visit other waterfalls with this ticket. The ascent to the waterfall follows a picturesque path, which mostly passes in the shade of trees. In some places the trail is very steep and even slippery, so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes. The waterfall itself is very picturesque; it has a fairly large and deep bowl with cool and clear water, in which it is very pleasant to swim. There are a lot of fish in this small lake that are not afraid of anything, and the little ones strive to make a Fish Scrub))) I highly recommend it. The photos come out great.

Reading some of the other reviews we were confused.
Point 1 if you don't like crowds, don' travel in peak period. We visited at the end of the wet, there were very few people, the falls were a torrent and we had the fish to ourselves for an hour.
Almost like a pedicure the fish nibble at your skin, awesome.
Point 2 of course the locals don't speak English, you are in their country it is up to us to try their language.
We found all the vendors very happy and not pushy at all, as well as selling very cheap beautiful food.
The walk to the Falls is amazing we saw monkeys frolicking in the forest and lots of butterflies and flowers. There is a life guard at the falls to makes use you are safe, the swimming was fantastic, a must do on Ko Chang.

This waterfall is a must to visit if you are spending time on Koh Chang. The waterfall itself isn’t so impressive but the fact that you can swim together with large and quite unshy fishes below makes it worth a visit.
There is a small entrance fee which you pay before you start hiking towards the waterfall and it was roughly 500 meters from the entrance to the waterfall. There are also a few restaurant close to the park entrance which I can recommend.

It’s a very nice spot but for tourists it’s a 200tb entry fee. You can use the same ticket to see the other waterfall on the same day but no one tells you that. I arrived at 4pm but no one tells you it closes at 4:30pm and it’s not sign posted. The guards at the waterfall instead blow their whistle at you if you walk along the rocks. With limited English they don’t tell you it’s closing time instead they just yell at you constantly and blow their whistle again.
If you pick up a twig and drop it in the water they yell at you for feeding the fish.
It’s a beautiful place but for me it was a bad experience

To go there we spent 200 for motorbike 200 each on entrance ticket. we lost about 20 mins to go there from white sands beach and 15 mins (9-10 mins if no kid) walk from the parking (10 bat to park). you better not wear sleepers there.
waters were dirty and too many people for such a small place (crowded). we swam but ok its not the crystal clear waters to do that. there are some fish that clean your feet from dead skin.
if i knew it was like this i wouldnt go there and saved a day at the beach.
toilet is only at the beginning at parking place so use it before you start to go at your own risk (no button, just a bucket, no soap). buy a bottle of drinking water also at the beginning as there is nothing at the falls end (just 2 guards making sure you are not stepping on edges and feeding the fish).
compared to kawasan falls or niagara falls i would rate it for 1/1000.

A quick 10-20 minute trek through the jungle brings you to a cool, deep pool fed by the waterfall. The water is filled with fish that don’t mind an extra body in the water. There’s tons of ropes to help you climb out and the waters deep enough to dive into. There’s a 200 bht entry fee but the ticket can be used at all the other waterfalls/national parks in Koh Chang within the same day so I’d highly recommend renting a bike and checking a few them out!

Beautiful water fall, it's nice to have a swim there, and you can enjoy a fish spa for free in the nature, there is also a life guard. Don't park your motorbike before entering the national park, after paying your entrance fee you can drive through the counter and park afterwards for free. Go before 11am and wear good shoes

For 200 THB and even for free, if I would know what I will see there, I would not go. Very disappointing, not interesting and definitely a tourist trap! It would be nice if they at least pre-warn you before you buy the ticket to manage and extremely lower your expectations. No recommendation to visit!!!

A nice walk through the jungle to get to the waterfall. Not too far from parking the car. about a 400 meter walk.
Unfortunately due to recent rain we were unable to swim at the bottom of the waterfall.
also disappointing is the 200 Baht entrance fee for foreigners. Much cheaper for Thai pepole.
Still a worthwhile experience.

We visited this waterfall multiple times. The path is short and long enough, and the water is crystal clear
In rainy season we couldn't go in the waterfall but otherwise it was great.
Fantastic experience. Must do!

Hi there, I saw your note "not wheelchair friendly" regardings the Klong Plu waterfall on Ko Chang. On of my friends is in a wheelchair - but is an electrical chair that also is suitable for "offroad" e.g. in the woods. As you have been there already and I haven't: Is it just not "wheelchair friendly" or is it totally unaccessible?
I would be very thankful for your ideas.
Written 6 January 2019
I don't have any experience with off road wheelchairs so not sure what their capabilities are. The path to the waterfall is not flat. There are tree roots in the ground and areas with 2 or 3 natural steps that you have to walk up and down. Also rocks in the ground. I would suggest to drive there and assess the path yourselves.
Written 6 January 2019
Is the water deep? I'm extremely short and can't swim, so would like to know this - thanks!
Written 6 November 2018
If you can't swim then it better to not go in, just do the trek.

Will there be water during the end of April?
Written 16 April 2018
There should be ample water. It rains every month in Ko Chang with March being the driest. We have visited in March and the waterfall was running (but not impressively).
Do plan to swim in the pools, and anticipate fish to nibble on you. It is quite an experience which draws many giggles.

Kan det være okay at komme til vandfaldet med en baby i bæresele, eller er det for besværligt eller måske farligt, hvis man glider?

We Saw a snake in the water. I Think it was yellow, Black and White? It was probably 1 meter long. What is the name of the snake?

Will be there in the end of february and hope that water level still be sufficient for swimming. What are the better hours to visit there? Will the afternoon hours be less crowded? What is the reasonable taxi price to get there from Kai Bae?
Written 15 February 2017
I Think is standard 50 baht with a taxi pr. person. We went there aroun 11-12 o'clock and it wasnt crowded. Entrance cost 200 baht pr. Person

Can you take scooters to this waterfall alone? Is it easy access? Or do you need a guide to take you into the jungle?
Written 15 March 2015
You can take the walk alone, there are tons of people. There is only one way to the waterfall. But you should wear proper shoes! Don't forget your Bikini.
