Unfortunately, you can't see the inside of the nuclear power plant. What you can see is their small but extremely informative and well-thought out information center. It explains basic atomic theory (where was this exhibit while I was taking college physics?!), how nuclear power is...More

A hands on exhibit that had enough to keep even our teenage girls engaged. Would be over the heads of most younger kids, but they would still enjoy the static electricity display and the bird sounds.

Took my 8 year old daughter and she enjoyed learning about energy through the exhibits. Her favorites were the bicycle that when pedaled would light up the bulbs and the static electricity machine.

We arrived at 1:45 on a day that the signs indicate it would be open but it was looked up tight with no indication of reason for change.

It is extremely interesting to this non-nuclear-plant person how Lake Anna was created with all its cool-off fingers. They created a series of fingers, dammed off from the rest of the lake, for the hot water to flow through, aided by canals, until it was...More

Excellent information center explaining how nuclear energy is created, works, and is "handled". Great educational experience for anyone. When we were there, we viewed two films. One re:nuclear power the other film re:Mineral, VA Earthquake One Year Later.

Happened upon this by accident but it was fun and informative. Lots of neat displays and information about the peaceful atom as well as the history of the Lake Anna Area and its creation to cool the plant.

Want a break from the heat and learn some cool stuff about energy, not just nuclear? Check out the visitor center, it's cool in many ways. Ask any question you want about the facility and nuclear power, you'll get a direct and informative answer.
