Morven Park was once the home of Virginia governor, Westmoreland Davis, and his wife Marguerite. More than 70 years after his death, the accomplishments and ideals of Gov. Davis still resonate within the 1,000 acres of this one-of-a-kind place. Each year 150,000 people visit the Park, whether participating in its competitive equestrian events, touring its three museums, attending educational and recreational programs, or just enjoying the beauty of the woodlands, mountainous ridge, historic buildings, and formal gardens. Summer tour hours for Morven Park's three museums are Thursday, Friday,Saturday, and Monday 12p.m.-5p.m. and Sunday 12p.m-5p.m. Starting September 1st, the museums will be open to the public Saturdays and Sundays 12:00 - 5:00, with the last tour starting at 4:00 pm. The historic gardens, Turkey Hill Farm, hiking trails, equestrian center and athletic complex are open every day. Operated by the Westmoreland Davis Memorial Foundation, Morven Park is a non-profit organization, relying on individual donations, memberships, and event income to finance its public programs and preservation of its historic and natural resources.

We had a quick visit here on our way through Virginia and took some beautiful photos of the lovely house and gardens. We didn't pay to go inside the house so I couldn't comment on that.

Gave this a poor rating because we spent 45 minutes to drive to Morven Park based on the wonderful reviews. TA site stated hours are 8am to 6pm. What I never did see was the fact that the park and grounds are open those hours but the mansion and museum are only open Satuday and Sunday. I can only review... More

My wife and I really enjoyed this place. The grounds are beautiful and building itself are beautiful. We paid the $10 a person for the guided tour of the house. Definitely worth the money. The tour was informative and very interesting. The ticket also got us into the carriage museum just down the path from the house. Very interesting as... More

If you like history and places like Mount Vernon, you will love Morven Park! Steeped in history, beautifully restored/maintained and lovely surrounding countryside! And if you get lucky there will be an equestrian event going on next door!

We decided to go explore this park, even though the museum was closed, the grounds were open and just stunning. Horse stables are there and the mansion is breathtaking. People had their dogs there too, 1k acres, you could walk all day. Bring snacks or a lunch and enjoy. My son loves running in the fields and seeing the horses.... More

You can get a tour of the house, the garden, the carriage house, the turkey farm, the trail, the log house camp, and the view of the fields. Best to do on a cooler day since you can spend so much time outside in the sun.

Morven Park has a lot to offer. Great place for a weekend outing; going for a walk; and touring an historic home. It's just outside of Leesburg, a wonderful town with the best of Virginia history and tradition. The house is reminiscent of Downton Abbey; but replace Lord Grantham with the Governor of Virginia. In the heart of horse country... More

The tour of the Davis Mansion and the carriage museum at Morven Park is well worth the visit. If you are anywhere near Leesburg, do yourself a favor and check it out. The price makes it a super value and the tour guides are outstanding!

Visited the home, carriage museum, gardens, and grounds over the weekend. The house is interesting and very well preserved. The tour focuses on the 1900s resident, a VA governor, but the earlier history of the house, dating back to the 1700s, is less emphasized. The guide was knowledgeable although did not share a lot of information and kept asking if... More

While on a quick family visit in Leesburg this weekend, we went to the Park twice. Once was a "check it out" drive through. The second time was an early morning long walk prompted by how interesting the park appear to be. No regrets whatsoever -- it is a very large old "family" property that was a very serene place...
