First time on recommendation from fellow golfers. Easy drive, great course (not for beginners). You can tell this is a long standing tradition in Virginia. Drove by the Tides Inn, but it's closed until March. The staff is outstanding and lunch was very good! Will return to get to know the area. If you want to get away from politics... More

The bones of this golf course reveal it was once a magnificent course. It still plays extremely well and is a golfers course. The fairways are velvet, the greens some what small but true, the cart paths need some work in spots. The food in the restaurant is excellent and inexpensive. It remains one of the prettiest courses on the... More

We had a great round of golf. It is in wonderful shape. Friendly staff. They have a well stocked pro shop. We would gladly play the course again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our golf round- and were pleasantly surprised to find a great quality lunch service- awesome club sandwich and onion rings and an excellent round of bloody Mary's. We came back later that week just to grab a bite!

We were introduced to the Golden Eagle by a 'local' and what a delightful parkland course this is. The course boasts many bunkers and a number of holes with water hazards but is a fair challenge to all levels of golfers. The tee areas, fairways and greens are well kept and 'true' but one minor quibble was the 'concrete' nature... More

Almost had the course to ourselves. Over 90 degree heat and they wouldn't accept payment for our post round lemonade. Nice little gesture.

Wonderful golf course nestled in the Northern Neck of Virginia. Each hole is a chapter in a delightful story. A must play for anyone who appreciates the game.

I live across Virginia in Roanoke (250 miles away!), but I try to get over to play the "Eagle" at least once per season. What one of the 2014 reviewers said about the course needing some repairs is true, but please do not get the impression that every sand trap is a muddy mess. I played here on Wed. July... More

We enjoyed this long golf course, which is also available for walking on the cart paths. You may sight an eagle.

The title says it all. There is a lot of deferred maintenance on the golf course. It is without a doubt the best designed golf course on the northern neck. It's current condition doesn't do justice to the vision in the original design work.
