This golf course has the oldest tee box in continuous use in America. The fairways are wide and the greens are plenty fast. What a test of your varying lies while playing the mountain terrain. Plenty of risks and rewards. I can't wait to return!

The history of the hotel (marvelous free tour), the character, the staff, the cleanliness, the array of activities offered. Such beautiful natural surroundings. A bit of clarity for the spa amenities (located on 4 different floors) would help the lost...but then you would miss some...More

Played this course in May and August of this year when staying at the Homestead. Since I was the only golfer in a group with scheduled activities, time was a premium. Was able to play 18 in less than 3 hours both times. The course...More

Lots of history surrounding this challenging mountain golf course. Pure Donald Ross. Small greens, many with false fronts. Lots of blind shots. Very difficult rough. Numerous narrow fairways & landing areas. Several landing areas are very steeply sloped so your ball will end up in...More

The Old Course at the Homestead is one of America's oldest. It's a mountain course with lots of uphill downhill side hill lies. More par 5s and 3s than par fours. Greens are tricky but not too fast. Stimp is about 8-9. Fescue rough is...More

The Old Course is a very nice and scenic course that you can walk to from The Homestead. It's much easier than it's sister course, the Cascades, with fairly wide fairways and open greens. The greens are still rather undulating and reasonably fast. My only...More

Very fun course, not as tough as the Cascades. Greens were just aerated, so that detracted from course, but otherwise great experience. Good pace of play, nice views.

We had a great round at the Homestead Old Course. Given the harsh mountain winter weather the course was in great shape. We pretty much had the course to ourselves and had time to enjoy the spectacular setting of this Donald Ross gem.

Very nice course. Wide open and very lush greens. Make sure you bring bug spray, gnats are terrible. History of the course is worth it in itself to visit.
