La Grange is one of the first wineries I visited when moving to Virginia years ago, and it remains one of my favorites, even though it changed hands at some point a few years ago. The history of the house is interesting, the property is idyllic and there are fun things to do on site throughout the year. Two of... More

This winery is by far the best one around! Blake was an incredible server for the tasting, and he went out of his way to make our experience perfect. They mix in bits of history about the wine and property, so you feel like there's always more to learn. There's plenty of space for groups to do tastings and enjoy... More

This was our very first wine tasting. The wines were good, the best one (surprisingly to me) was their dessert port wine called Snort. The gentleman that served us was nice and knowledgeable, but a bit too soft spoken - it was hard for me to hear him. The place is adorable! I loved the old home turned into a... More

It has been years since I last visited. I took friends with me. We had a great visit. It is a beautiful old house. Service was good. We were able to choose between two tasting menus or to taste all. Some wines we liked, others not as much.

Wine tasting with friends. It is a nice venue with great indoor and outdoor spaces. Plenty of tasting rooms upstairs and downstairs. Good selection of wines to taste and enjoy. Try the Snort if you get a chance.

I went there with my wife on Veterans Day. The man conducting the tastings treated us very badly. He would not wait until I finish a wine and he would pour the next one. He was very rude and did not explain anything. The wines were also mediocre at best. I have done over 20 tastings in my life (Sonoma,... More

I was looking forward to visiting this winery. Unfortunately, my expectations might have been too high. The gentleman conducting the tastings did an excellent job of explaining the wines and was very helpful. However, the atmosphere at LaGrange was just not welcoming. The restroom in the main house is in need of a complete redo. A very long, climb up... More

Zach was the gentleman doing my tasting and he was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and knew the wines. He was able to tell which wines I would like (the Chardonnay, the Cuvée Blanc, the Battlefield Generals and the Meritage) and those I would not. It was a great tasting and I told others as I was walking out and... More

We were there Labor Day weekend and the place was extremely busy, but there was plenty of seating. It's very family friendly, with picnics and a lot of room for all the kids to run off their energy.
