There are a LOT of criss-crossing trails in Hillandale Park. We are hikers and enjoy time in the woods. We often go up to Shenandoah National Park and do either loop trails or out and back ones. For me, the trails in Hillandale got confusing....More
This was definitely a great place to visit if you are interested in seeing some local wildlife. We saw three deer, grasshoppers, Blue Jays, and even a northern black racer snake! The trails on the other hand, there are limited signs and they are not...More

Set in a great park, these trails are great for walking. Well maintained and not difficult to negotiate. There are also bike trials for the younger kids with jumps and mounds. Great picnic facilities in the park also.

Nice circuit of trails, the exercise equipment along the way is fun as is the playground. More traffic than the average hiking trail but I wouldn't really call it "hiking." More of a walking/running/biking path. We had a pleasant visit with a large group.
there are many different trails to hike at Hillandale. open, wooded and inbetween. Easy walking on decent trails. A perfect spot to walk your dog or ride your back. take along a picnic and use one of the many shelter areas.
Do not go after rain! It get slippery but it was a nice little stroll! Bring a cooler and charcoal and grill out! If you have a group play some volleyball don't forget the ball! Horse shoes too! Bring your own!
