The arboretum has hilly and flat areas so you can take a leisurely stroll or get a little more of a workout. There are a variety of plants so there is something pretty to enjoy almost anytime of year. Plus, it’s free!

Although my husband and I only had about 30 minutes at the Arboretum, not nearly enough time to do it justice, we did manage to enjoy a lovely stroll around the pond. We got so many good ideas for plantings in our own yard, and...More

We didn't realize that this was part of JMU until we stumbled upon the football game getting let out. No worries, we stopped in, was small, pretty - we walked around a bit. Recommend for a few pretty pics and to see a few flowers,...More

Just loved this place. The gardens are an artistry of nature. We had a leisurely stroll and enjoyed the antics of a local chimpmunk.

We didn’t do the trails but did walk the small loop around the pond — it was beautiful and had friendly ducks :)

What a hidden gem right off of I-81 and adjacent to JMU. The trails are lovely and the gardens are just spectacular. We visited in August so much of the foliage was already bloomed; but it was gorgeous anyway.

Small flower gardens, children's area, woods with paths. Two small parking areas. Definitely there the wrong time of the year. Very few flowers in bloom. Gnats in the wooded area were very prevalent. Have been to better.

One can find a trail for whatever experience you would love outdoors. No two visits are every the same, changing by the week. I am always finding new paths and of course the plants are seasonal. There are always special things like statues and benches,...More

While the parking is a little challenging, the plants, the quiet, and the shear loveliness is so worth it. And, I have to mention the frogs and the turtles!! Ten minutes refresh!
