Having visted dozens of other wineries in the area, we stopped to check out Horton and won't be back. The tasting room is extremely dated, wine is sub-par, and wine pourers aren't as knowledgable as they are at other vineyards. $6 does get you a...More

Horton's is one of many vineyards in the area within a thirty-mile radius. A wine tasting event allows the sampling of up to ten varieties from an extensive list. Our hostess for the day was Amy, a delightful, engaging and self-taught expert in the product...More

We're really not in to wines in general but when your in wine country you go out on a limb! We tasted some really good whit and red wines. Also, we have always favored what we call dessert wine.....nice and sweet!

My husband and I have enjoyed Horton wines at restaurants in Virginia and wanted to go to the source. Unfortunately we choose the weekend where they were having their Mardi Gras event. It was poorly organized for the number of visitors. The pourers didn't have...More

We actually really like Horton wines, including their Norton, Viognier, and Cabernet Franc. Sampling them at Horton, however, is pretty underwhelming.

I do not think there are any wineries I did not enjoy! The best, so far, were Horton, Barboursville. The first wine tour we did was the Bedford wine trail (best to do a "wine trail" by regions, as Peter stated above... More
