Check the Historic Blenheim website. They routinely have experts in to give one-hour talks about Civil War history. Today's talk about the Confederate Navy and the final days of the war was excellent. The site is a true little gem. The family home's interior walls are covered in Union soldier graffiti! The grounds are beautiful and photogenic with a small... More

This property is historical and has a very pretty setting. The property was rented for a private party, and the price was affordable. The inside area was the perfect setting for the theme of the party which was a European / German Christkindle market. Amphora catering did an amazing job and a ump-pa band was hired. Blenheim staff was helpful... More

Really enjoyed the tour and museum. The house is under renovation and a little rough and I wish we have more access to the building. The museum is small but very interesting. As a Civil War buff I found the total experience very interesting and a gem in Fairfax

We visited here for Civil War Day and what an experience! Will be making another trip for sure! We are huge Civil War buffs so the Civil War Day was perfect for us. We were able to see a Cricket Demo, meet Robert E Lee, there's music, food, tours...great for families and very kid friendly!

The interactive center has a wonderful museum with a recreation of the attic - complete with all of the soldiers "graffiti". The interactive center can also be rented for private parties and receptions. The house itself is in pretty rough shape as they continue to work on restoration but it is fascinating to hear the history of the home and... More

Having lived in vicinity of Fairfax, VA, for many years we passed this historic site which was completely engulfed in blackberry vines until the US Park Service acquired it and restored the building. Nice location for a brief historic outing. They also have Civil War buffs who display camp and uniforms of the period. Thanks to the US Park Service.

The historic family home highlights one fairly rare treasure: extensive Civil War soldiers' graffiti. The home was a Union field hospital while its walls were white and bare. Many years later, after 6 layers of wallpaper and paint were removed, hundreds of handwritten names, pictures and poems were revealed on those white walls - all drawn by Civil War soldiers... More

Blenheim is small, yes, but it's so close to downtown Fairfax and Fairfax Station you could combine them all into one day. Pay attention to the fact the only tour of the old house takes place daily at 1 PM, though! We have to go back to catch that. The volunteer at Blenheim was helpful and very knowledgeable about the... The historic home is still being fixed, but the first floor is available. Tours are given once daily & include the cemetery. The Museum has a video & currently an informative Slavery exhibit. Right in the heart of Fairfax City & free---great opportunity.

You could drive by this place fifty times and not know what it is. Stop sometime and see what's hidden in Fairfax. You can't go in the original house, but the modern interpretive center does a good job telling the story. And the prople working there are very helpful. You can also walk down the trails and see the other... More
